CHICAGO -- Authorities believe a teenager accused of abducting two young children in Chicago intended to perform a demonic ritual in order to get a former girlfriend back.
Prosecutors said David Rodriguez, 18, and a companion snatched Erika Castillo, 6, and her older brother, Oscar, outside a Little Village library on Friday and planned to carve a pentagram in the girl's chest.
Police said Rodriguez made up an errand to get rid of Oscar and took the Erika into his home.
"He told me to take a paper to the doctor," Oscar told NBC5.
Police said Rodriguez and a friend went inside the home to get candles and incense, and neighbors called police after seeing Oscar crying outside.
Police said the girl was found unharmed at Rodriguez's home.
The suspect's grandfather, Julian Rodriguez, said he saw his grandson with the little girl.
"I said, 'David, what are you doing with that little girl, do you know her?' And he said, 'Ya, I used to babysit her. She's lost, grandpa,'" Julian Rodriguez said.
Julian Rodriguez said his grandson has medical problems, and admitted that he recently left his church and turned to devil worship.
"I don't believe in it, but he does," Julian Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez was being held on a $500,000 bond and was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.
The devil is in the details, in any deal with the Devil... You should always have a lawyer present. ;-)

Of course he can't just come out and say he's crazy, no the devil made him do it. I'll bet money that they find he was schizo or something and thought the neighbor's parakeet was a messenger of satan or something. Satanists are too busy preening in the mirror trying to find a black enough black that goes well at any occasion to snatch kids to sacrifice. It's a cult of narcissism, not evil.
Don't worry...the government will soon be sued by the ACLU for violating the Satanist's civil rights. They will be forced to return the girl to the "unnamed, maligned minority religion" and instructed by the 9th Circuit Court to refrain from further action. This will be appealed to the Supreme Court, but by that time the "religion artifact" (girl) will already be "used" (murdered). This will be hailed by Democrats as a "victory for all Americans."
