Premiere Radio Networks is taking podcasting visual. The Clear Channel-owned syndicator has cut a deal with broadband video provider Maven Networks to send 60-second video segments of The Rush Limbaugh Show to subscribers of the Rush 24/7 premium content service beginning Dec. 12.The move makes Premiere the first major radio broadcaster to embrace direct delivery of video to the new iPods, which hit the market last month.
Dittoheads will be able to view The Morning Update on their iPod or PC.
Premiere says it already delivers nearly one million broadcast hours of Rush Limbaugh podcasts each week directly to subscribers.
The Limbaugh video service is the latest example of a larger trend in broadcasting to deliver content through a variety of digital platforms, giving consumers on-demand access to their favorite programming.
As traditional broadcasters watch consumers' real-time media viewing patterns shift, they are following their audiences onto a variety of Internet-enabled consumer platforms, said Hilmi Ozguc, CEO of Maven Networks. Maven's platform gives content providers a streamlined way to deliver high quality video experiences directly to consumers across multiple platforms, while simultaneously building new revenue streams for the future.
How does that work, I have an ipod but I can`t see how it could play videos...It seems it just has a basic black and white low res pixel screen.

The new iPods have hi-res color screens.
