Can anybody explain to me how Scientology got firmly established in Hollywood? Was Travolta the first big celebrity name?

I don't remember anything about it being there in the '60s or early 70's.

There was a policy letter laying out a plan to specifically target "opinion leaders" such as actors, musicians, sports heroes. politicians, etc. with the idea that they would lead many people into the church.

Ravolta wasn't the first. Dunno who was. Jazz musician Chick Corea maybe? Priscilla Presley?

They specifically targeted Hollywood. A big effort to find, woo and keep.

The celebrities see a country club version of the con.

The facility contains founder L. Ron Hubbard's writings etched into stainless steel tablets that are stored in titanium capsules.

Ten thousand years from now, some future humans are gonna think we were superstitious egotistical bogus-science whack jobs.

Scientology is perfect for the man who is his own God.
