My Post Office Experience Today
Posted on 11/28/2005 2:17:49 PM PST by maineman
My daily trip to the USPO was one for the books today. As I was having my packages stamped a Women came along side of me and asked the clerk if they sold any stamps that didn't promote violence. The clerk was miffed, I was pissed, as she cut into my space. The Women said the American Flag stamps represent murder around the World. I suggested she move to Cuba as she will be able to buy several books of Castro stamps. She called me a Bush-Fool, a new one to me. I asked her to tell me exactly how we were killing people around the World...I-R-A-Q was her answer. I told her we were spreading Democracy and asked her to get back in line. As I left she yelled that I was a rightwinger, I told her "MERRY CHRISTMAS". That ticked her off. Thought I'd share.

I don't think it was "about" the stamps at all. Example: She could have asked the clerk for a brochure of currently selling stamp sheets. Then she could have sat down in the lobby and quietly picked out a stamp sheet to her liking. Then she could have politely waited in line like everyone else, and when it was her turn she could have told the clerk; "I'd like a sheet of these stamps".
But you see, that wasn't her agenda. The stamps were just an excuse to get in everyone's face.

"This one's on me. It's the least I can do for a soldier who's serving this country and protecting my family." I left teary-eyed. Wow!

That's what really irks me about the whole thing.. The idiots, and the lefties, are so rude and thoughtless in their comments towards any situation.. as Ex military, and yeesh, even if I wasn't, the people in our military deserve our utmost respect and admiration. Especially now with their task at hand.

I try not to do that at family functions, but that friend I was referring to keeps trying to convert me to the dark side. I just let her talk mostly. Laugh later.

Ted Kennedy would fit on a stamp? We'd better start making bigger envelopes.

Cheeeze, my son is risking his life for fools like this?

Here in NJ, you cut in line in the Post Office, you disappear.
Sounds good!

You have my sympathy, radiohead.
If I lived in Seattle, I'd be in a constant state of agita.
(For you folks in Rio Linda, that means I would be constantly aggravated)
