They say better late than never but......
haha...I like how you start out by saying my comments are "dumb"....well considering that Tom Tancredo, Michelle Malkin et al expressed the same opinions though more eloquently, I feel I'm in good company....thanks for your extensive reply and forethought on the matter of my "dumb" post....
I was wondering, given the catch and release carelessness of our political leaders for all these years, who is going to round up and send the 'guest workers" back home after three years? Can't you see the next Democrat President making all guest workers citizens just in time for election day?
There is a macho attitude among those "minorities" with civil rights against those with no civil rights. Mexicans saying they are going to take over the country and change the language to spanish only do so because they have more rights permiting social dominance than the ones they speak down to - Americans.
It isn't the JOB they will not do, it is the pay they refuse to work for ...
Even if the pay were higher most Americans would not work as hard nor complain as little. They would want union representation and fixed rules and wages, including a complaint board, as well as complete paid for health insurance and company paid 401Ks or other retirement accounts. That is why jobs are being outsourced as much as they are.
...while seeing so much profit come from the labor they create going to those that never lifted a finger to create the profits to begin with.
You also throw in a little class envy and economic ignorance to round out your liberal attitude.
Also, businesses tend to reinvest profit in their business and grow. As you said....free economy.
That is what the head Border Patrol guy for the Southern Sector called them. It was a self-serving comment on his part, CYA and job protection. That is the information that was sent by the BP to Bush. The BP has undermined him as much as the CIA and State Dept.
by the way........pls read all the posts and see that there are many "dumb" comments that agree with me....too bad we are all so "assuming" in our miserable analysis of the situation....I stand by my comments and of course I make assumptions since he has not addressed this issue to many of us...politicians and laymen alike to our liking...
TRY THIS ONCE
Enter Mexico illegally. Ignore immigration quotas, visas, international law, and all that nonsense.
Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
Demand that the federal government provide retirement benefits for your elderly parents.
Procreate abundantly.
Demand that the Mexican school system provide schooling for all your children.
Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do the same.
Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.
Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
Deflect any criticism of this irresponsible behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would not understand."
Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop; proudly display it in your front window and on your car bumper.
Demand a local Mexican driver's license and then use your new Mexican driver's license to apply for other legal rights and to legitimize your illegal presence in Mexico.
Demand that the Mexican driver's license be acceptable documentation for voter's registration.
Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.
Insist that you should not have to pay taxes, because you are not a Mexican citizen and are only there "temporarily."
Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon be dead.
It will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world. The only place this happens is right here. in the land of the gullible and the home of the naively stupid.
If you agree, pass it on. If you don't, go ahead, head on down to Mexico.
Gringo
I am afraid you nailed him. Bush is anti-America and hates the average worker. You guys sound just like Democrats. Maybe you are but if not it makes no difference, you are doing their work.
That is what the head Border Patrol guy for the Southern Sector called them. It was a self-serving comment on his part, CYA and job protection. That is the information that was sent by the BP to Bush. The BP has undermined him as much as the CIA and State Dept.
BS if Presidente Bush doesn't know what the word Vigilante means, and he listened to some management puppet, he should revise his stategery......
You are right that illegals are treated brutally there. The best argument against the charitability of the left in supporting illegal immigration is that it props up corrupt and abusive regimes.
I have read this whole thread, and I am not surprised that the usual griping and name-calling is occurring.
I refuse to participate further, other than this one post to express my opinion and what I heard.
Everyone may continue griping now.
That policy has been in place long before Bush came along. If you haven't noticed he has been a little busy with 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, tax cuts, SS reform, tax reform, Homeland Security creation, the Patriot Act, huricanes, Democrat subtrifuge, constant attacks by the Democrats and MSM, and one Hell of alot more. Oh yeah, he has also proposed almost this same program before but no one seems to remember.
You guys seem to be working off the Democrat talking points.
FAIR response to Presidente Bush's lip service to the American people:

I agree global markets create competition and some businesses chose to outsource. I would offer that the language issue presented when a person buys a dell or a gateway and then calls for service, is a customer service issue that will deterr those folks from future purchases.
Outsourcing goes both ways. We insource jobs also and what is good for the goose is good for the gander. I would offer that the gap in labor will close to a more managable position when other nations grow their economies.
I would offer that hiring illegals is much the same thing as outsourcing. But, at least, when you hire someone in India you KNOW their paychecks will cycle in India creating economic growth and tax revenues in India. When an Illegal mexican is hired and works here, the vast majority of the money he makes goes right into an envelope and heads right down south to cycle in the mexican economy. On that note I would offer illegals working here as a form of outsourcing is more damaging than the India example.
You: Good question, I pointed that out in post 214. Note, I disagreed with Bush's logic.
Ah, so you did. Fair enough. Then, in #214 you said that Bush had moved to the right on the issue with this speech. You backed it up with three examples in your #240. Considering that the President's speech did not advocate a real fence, did not advocate a serious increase in border personnel, and did not advocate any sort of enforcement mechanism for his guest-worker program, do you see his move as more of a twitch, or do you think his proposals would have a substantive impact on the problem?
Your facts are not just weak, there are wrong. The illegal problem has been going on forever but it became a massive problem in 1996 when Clinton/Gore encouraged it by eliminating FBI checks and sending out fliers to neighborhoods heavy with illegals telling them to register and vote even though they weren't eligible. Since then the flood has continued and increased. W had nothing to do with it.
You Democrats are getting to be a real pain with your lies.
LOL....well I never called anyone "names" and I never ever do since that does not befit me....but yes....I am complaining and many a conervative like Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, many who are worshipped here have been saying the same darned things for a long time...I rarely criticize the Pres but on this issue...I have.........thanks for your comments...
Hey maybe, just maybe, we will see a few people from the minuteman movement grow political wings like this fella.
