Jagged little pill By Salena Zito, TRIBUNE-REVIEW If you harbored any lingering doubts as to the motivation of Cindy Sheehan, grieving mom turned Mother Peacenik, harbor no more. Sheehan's latest nerve-scraping -- an Internet-posted open letter to Barbara Bush -- reveals her in all her politically motivated glory. She sheds her usual passive-aggressive drivel and goes for the throat. "(My son) didn't want to go to Iraq, but he knew his duty. Your son went AWOL from a glamour unit," Sheehan writes.Childlike in her vitriol, she attacks Mrs. Bush for failing to raise a decent human being. And she accuses the president of killing her son, Casey, who died in Iraq.

Doesn't this rise to the level of slander, since it would be easy to prove "malice" on her part???

I can't answer your question but the President would never pursue that line. It would raise her visibility to a level that she can only dream of now.

Why do I envision the end of this bitter, hate filled women is a can of gasoline and a match in front of the White House.

AKA: Quaker Norman Morrison self-immolation in front of Secretary of Defense

Liberals keep going back to the same playbook. Sheehan was their big gun for a while, then fizzled. They moved on the CIA/Plame and indictments for every republican in the White House, that didn't work. They went on to the old 'no WMD' nonsense, then to the tired 'Bush lied' crap. None of it is working so they retread Sheehan and the anti-war/anti-America B.S.

As long as this is their playbook they'll keep running in place. Good for us.

she knows exactly what she is doing. That is why all the pictures show her smiling (leering?) because she is so happy to be causing all this ruckus.

She knows. Someone somewhere is funding her asinine behavior and I would guess there is a bank account somewhere in her name to take care of her in the future.

She knows what she is doing.

As long as the money rolls in and she can be a part of something she thinks she is a part of(really a pawn)Cindy Idiot will be out there just like the rest of the America haters.

What these people don't realize, including Code Pink, etc. is when the big boys are finished with you; you are out on your fanny. With Cindy, it looks like they just couldn't turn a sow into a silk purse. She just doesn't work.

I take Thee at thy word...

Mayhap, then, her repugnent conscience is seared unto eternal blackness with nary a glimpse of goodness or hope or love of Liberty.

Translation: she's well long gone as you say.

It is very important for the militant Left to make Sheehan a national figure. They haven't been able to really create an anti-war movement that is coherent. There are those who merely think this is the wrong war, but there are those who not only want to see us leave Iraq, but to be so humiliated as to not try foreign adventures again. Sheehan is the latter.

From my experience in the National Guard, Bush didn't go AWOL. He was never on active duty long enough to do that. He did suffer a case of "senior slump" his last year, but many officers did when they hit their goals.

If I were Barbara Bush, I'd head to Crawford and slap Sheehan for those cruel words. Thank God they weren't aimed at me.

Me, too!

But, I bet Barbara could just give her that look and make Cindy turn and run.

How can anyone say GWB went AWOL when the records show not only did he volunteer to fly in Vietnam twice (he lacked flight hours and experience enough to go), but his draft number was so far down he would never have been drafted anyways and didn't even have to go into the ANG.

Once again the left looks at the world through upside-down glasses.

Another legal fine point to consider - can a first lady be slandered easier than a holder of a public office?

It should. God knows it was the most malicious thing I'd ever read.
