"To my knowledge, the only society that rivals Romania like this is India, where the concept of Karma (the preordained cycle of a person's fate based on repayment of past sins of previous lives) devalues humanity. Many babies are abandoned in the jungles and woods to the animals if there's any kind of birth defect. "

Have you ever been to India?

I'm just attuned to arguments that make an assumption, but are not based on fact. Like, "Everyone knows most of the founding fathers raped their slaves and produced illigimate children". Did even most of them own slaves? What were their opinions about slavery? At least 3 of them were opposed to slavery, likely more. And most of them held virtuous behavior as the very foundation of human happiness and the success of a republic such as the one they hammered out.

Innuendo and false assumptions are not the way to debate rationally.

Some time back I wondered just what might
awake the various naive "liberals" of my
acquaintance. Will this? I don't know.
First they have to know about it. I do try.

Here's another article I just pinged out with more info. It is indeed Albanians behind this in large part. Absolutely heart breaking.

Kept in a dungeon ready to be sold as slaves.

Actually, from what I've read, much of prostitution in Asia is forced slavery as well.

SolutionsOnly...All the parsing, equivocation, and relativism really makes me question what truly is in the hearts of those making attempts to obfuscate this sort of evil.

Doubtless they're engaging in some sort of vice. But by being adherents of Libertarianism, they can exhonerate their behavior by claiming that because a female (for example) chooses to degrade herself by selling her body, then it's alright for themselves to buy her body and use it.

Ileana had no say in the sale. When the pimps were there she spoke only once, to assure me, with sad, pleading eyes: "You will not need to beat me."

At 16, Ileana, an ill-educated girl from a poor family, was gang-raped at the back of a disco in her home town near Bucharest. It was not just a random act by violent thugs, but a deliberate tactic, the first stage of her "breaking in."

Alina and two other girls were taken in a minibus on a two-day journey through Hungary and Austria to a hut on the outskirts of Rome where she was raped and beaten by her neighbour and two other men. She was given a "patch" at a bus-stop and ordered to charge men 50 euros for five minutes of sex in a car park guarded by the pimps. She resisted and was punched in the face, before being sold weeks later to three Romanians who hit and raped her. They kept her and five other girls in a disused, windowless freight train carriage with only a blanket to sleep on -- and forced her to do more 50-euro sex sessions.

How could this occur when so many feminists, libertarians, and others tell us that prostitution is a "victimless" crime that should be made legal? /righteous indignation

Good point. I didn't mean to exclude aborted kids from the equation.

But we do treat the abuse of kids that you can see as different from the abuse of kids you can't see, sadly.

You seem unable to grasp the difference between a general opinion and a personal attack.

And you seem to think it is ok to lie about a group of people and not expect to get taken to task for it.

Although the LP favors legalized prostitution, there is nothing there that implies that they would favor criminal acts against another, such as kidnapping, or coercion of services, such as forced prostitution.

Hiding behind the 'it's my opinioin' is a lame cop out for taking responsibility for your mistating L/libertarian veiws.

Your opinions are demonstrably false and you conveniently ignore that fact.

So I regard your false statements, otherwise known as lies, as a personal attack on anyone who favors any aspect of L/libertarian thought.

If telling lies about people, not accepting responsibilty for those lies, not correcting those lies, defending those lies and then hiding behind a facade of hurt feelings is your idea of virture and morality, then you are in great company with the Pharasees, Sadusees, and Liberal Democrats; the greatest hypocrits of all time.

IF you post an opinion, you'd best be prepared to defend it or take the consequences.

I have not. I have been to Trinidad, which has a statistically overwhelming Indian population.

Strange.

Check out the chart. By the way, it's no accident that Kipling's 'Jungle Book' is set in India. He was familiar with the culture enough to know about feral kids.

Who said anything about rape? I never used or implied that there was rape. Learn comprehension along with your switch to decaf.

Hi Al-

"...These are not Serbs (as should be obvious from the names). They are Albanians. They are the drug runners and pimps of Europe. Anyone wonder why the Serbs tried to protect themselves against these sub-humans?..."

Just bear in mind that many Christian Albanians have fled to Italy to escape the insane Muslims around them. Christians of Albanian heritage are a decent and hard-working group of people.

"Although the LP favors legalized prostitution,..."

Yes it does, and these events took place in the EU where it is legal. Therefore the distopian view is flawed. For you to make PERSONAL attacks based on that valid observation is against the rules of this forum. I ask again, is that just your bad habit (ignoring the rules of both this forum and of civil debate) or is it something you believe derives from youre philosophy?

As I just stated in another "white slavery" thread, I use the word "subhumans" to describe the terrorists/pimps/assasins/drug runners and their mafia subculture within the European Albanian population - not to describe all Albanians.

When you tossed out the lie about Libertarians favoring kidnapping, brutality, rape, and forced prostitution you stepped way out of bounds.

If you don't think that those are personal attacks against L/libertarians then you are really out of your mind.

There was no need to even bring Libertarians into the discussion of this thread, but when you did you did it with gratuitous itentional dishonesty.

Let's see....you incorrectly say that Libertarians condone the practices described in the article and can't understand why libertarians would be upset and yet you are upset about me calling you an ass?

People to have to lie about other people in order to make a point are asses and you fit the description.

I'd done here. Don't expect any responses from me. But don't take that as license to lie without being challenged.

"When you tossed out the lie about Libertarians favoring kidnapping, brutality, rape, and forced prostitution you stepped way out of bounds."

Of course, since I did no such thing, your odd self-justification for personal attacks, uncivil behavior and rulebreaking falls apart at the seams. Just like the distopian psuedo philosophy you espouse.
