John Edwards, the former Democratic nominee for vice president, has made a courageous admission: "I was wrong," he said, and made "a mistake" in voting for the war in Iraq when he was a senator from North Carolina.
Edwards wrote his mea culpa in an op-ed article for The Washington Post on Nov. 13.
Now, let's hear it from those other Democrats and, possibly, brave Republicans who are willing to admit that they, too, had been misled into war.
That may be asking too much of members of the Democratic Leadership Council, who often toss in their political lot with the Republicans. It's hard to distinguish some of them from the GOP when it comes to the Iraq war.

Has anybody figued out exactly what species Helen is?
helen thomas is a joke.
Well, everyone can admit their mistakes about going into Iraq.... but that doesn't answer the question:
What should we do next?
(Hint - The answer isn't to say it was all a big mistake and come home)
"Has anybody figued out exactly what species Helen is?"
My best guess would be a wildebeast, but I don't want to insult the wildebeasts of the world.
I'm trying to follow the "logic" here.
Everyone got the same intelligence. They all came to the same conclusion. Therefore, Bush misled everyone into war.
This illustrates the classic error of Democrats with respect to warfare. They don't mind getting into a war as long as they can screw it up and later withdraw in shame and self hatred.
I've only recently taken to glancing at the Keywords.....
Sometimes it's worth it! LOL
helen is the result when you mate a human with a catcher's mitt.
The IslamoNazi Arab Street speaks (Helen Thomas is an arab).
Actually more like the Arab Sewer.
If it were up to the current Demorats, we would have lost the Revolutionary War because it became "difficult". The Demorats would let Hitler take over England and bomb New York and Washington. The USSR would still exist, threatening us with nuclear destruction, and Saddam Hussein would still be commiting mass murder and subjecting Iraqis to hideous, Satanic torture.
Connections between Saddam Husseins Iraq & al Qaeda the source is a Weekly Standard magazine article titled The Mother of All Connections dated July 18, 2005. These are excerpts:
1) A Guantanamo enemy combatant is described. He served in Iraqi army, joined the Taliban in Afghanistan, became an agent for Usama Bin Ladin, traveled in August 1998 to Pakistan with a member of Iraqi Intelligence for purpose of blowing up U.S. and British embassies with chemical mortars.
2) Also in August 1998 al Qaeda terrorists attacked U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 and injuring more than 4,000 people. Clinton administration publicly accused Iraq of supplying al Qaeda with chemical weapons expertise and material.
3) According to 9/11 Commission report, in July 1998 an Iraqi delegation traveled to Afghanistan to meet first with the Taliban and then with bin Laden, and that sources reported that one, or perhaps both, of these meetings (March and July meetings between Iraq and al Qaeda) was apparently arranged through bin Ladens Egyptian deputy, Zawahiri, who had ties of his own to the Iraqis.
4) After embassy bombings in item 2 above, Clinton bombed al Shifa pharmaceutical plant in Sudan, defending the strike by pointing out presence of VX nerve gas from Iraq, the presence of Iraqi chemical weapons experts at the plant, and telephone intercepts between plant officials and the head of Iraqs chemical weapons program, Emad Al Ani. National Security Council counter-terrorism director Richard Clarke said the intelligence exists linking bin Laden to al Shifas current and past operators, the Iraqi nerve gas experts, and the National Islamic Front in Sudan. Sandy Berger said that the presence of Iraqi chemical experts in Sudan was probably a direct result of the Iraq-Al Qaeda agreement. Clintons Secretary of Defense William Cohen said there were multiple, reinforcing elements of information ranging from links that the organization that built the facility (al Shifa) had both with bin Laden and with the leadership of the Iraqi chemical weapons program. 9/11 Commission co-chairman Thomas Kean said, top officials Bill Clinton, Sandy Berger, and others told us with absolute certainty that there were chemical weapons of mass destruction at that factory, and thats why we sent missiles.
5) A Senate Intelligence Committee report said, Abdul Rahman Yasin, a fugitive of the 1993 World Trade Center attack, is of Iraqi descent, and in 1993, he fled to Iraq with Iraqi assistance. The Iraqi government first denied any connection with Yasin, but later Tariq Aziz claimed that the Iraqi regime held Yasin as a prisoner. According to Vice President Cheney, in a Meet the Press interview in September 2003, weve learned
since we went into Baghdad and got into the intelligence files, that this individual probably also received financing from the Iraqi government as well as a safe haven.
6) The Iraqi Intelligence Service attempted to assassinate former President George H.W. Bush. The IIS recruited a male nurse from Najaf as a suicide bomber to kill the former president on a trip to Kuwait.
7) There is evidence that Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, an Iraqi national, escorted a September 11th hijacker to a key planning meeting (for the 9/11 attacks) held in Kuala Lumpur. When Shakir was arrested in Doha, Qatar on September 17, 2001, he had a treasure trove of contact information for several high-ranking al Qaeda terrorists, including Zaid Sheikh Mohammed, brother of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed; Musab Yasin, brother of Abdul Rahman Yasin (1993 World Trade Center bombing); Abu Hajer al Iraqi, an Iraqi national said to be Osama bin Ladens best friend; and Ibrahim Suleiman, a Kuwaiti whose fingerprints were found on bomb making manuals used in preparation for the 1993 WTC attack. The Qataris released Shakir, then he was detained for three months by Jordan while the Saddam Hussein regime repeatedly contacted the Jordanian government to press for his release. Shakir was released again, presumably with idea he would become a CIA spy. He returned to Baghdad and disappeared.
Also:
Saddam Hussein paid cash rewards to the families of suicide terrorists.
Saddam Hussein is responsible for the murder of hundreds of thousands of people, whose mass graves are being investigated. (Not much on TV news about this, is there?)
It appears that the terrorists moved from Afghanistan to camps allowed by Saddam Hussein in Iraq. And it is now clear that the terrorists view Iraq as a key battle which they cannot afford to lose.
The Demorats are allies of the terrorists.

It's a shame Helen's parents didn't admit theirs. |
Did he channel that dead little girl's voice (the girl he represented in court) when he made this tearful apology?
Let me try ...
1) "I was wrong,"
2) "had been misled into war"
A failure to execute logic, morphs very quickly into having faulty information presented to you eliciting an allegedly bad decision.
... no, I can't follow it either.
The new Democrat version of saying "I have sinned against you!"
Helen's a wildebeest? Gee, who gnu?
