I agree. There should be no prison rape. Prisons are pits of ongoing crime, gang activity and drugs. IMO:
1. Prisons should be run lean and mean - prisoners should produce all they eat, wear, and sleep on.
2. Work all day should be mandatory.
3. Consult that AZ prison guy about meals and accomodations. And pink underwear.
4. No coffee, no cigarettes, no TV, no movies.
I've always wondered - how do prisoners get drugs? It must be "bad" correction officers. Weed them out.
While not attacking all correction officers, how much are they paid, how many recruits do they get for a postion, what is the throughput of officers.
You get a lot of corruption in establishments where morale is low due to a lot of factors.
