Should be linked with the Darwin awards. Ranks along with "Hold my beer can and watch this!"

All: Fryer outside, always watch it, have a fire extinguisher handy. Nuff said.

Watch out You might get what you’re after Cool babies Strange but not a stranger I’m an ordinary guy Burning down the house

Hold tight wait till the party’s over Hold tight we’re in for nasty weather There has got to be a way Burning down the house

Here’s your ticket pack your bag: time for jumpin’ overboard The transportation is here Close enough but not too far, maybe you know where you are Fightin’ fire with fire

All wet Hey you might need a raincoat Shakedown Dreams walking in broad daylight Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees Burning down the house

It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself Gonna come in first place People on their way to work baby what did you except Gonna burst into flame

My house S’out of the ordinary That’s might Don’t want to hurt nobody Some things sure can sweep me off my feet Burning down the house

No visible means of support and you have not seen nuthin’ yet Everything’s stuck together I don’t know what you expect starring into the tv set Fighting fire with fire

We used to cook them in the garage until I saw what was happening. Now it's the yard away from the house. I don't think a regular household extinguisher could put one out.

Ellis says there are a few things to keep in mind before deciding to fry a turkey:

Do not use the fryer on or around anything that can catch fire.
Do not put too much oil in the fryer. Remember, the oil will rise when the turkey goes into the pot.
Monitor the temperature of the oil and keep it from getting too hot.
Make sure turkey is well-thawed and dry before slowly easing it into the fryer.

Anyone planning to fry a turkey this year is urged to keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

Firefighters suggest buying a deep-fried turkey from a restaurant rather than attempting to cook it at home.

I live about 30 miles north of Nashville;they`re also burning up the the country burning leaves.Had a pretty good grass fire about a mile from my farm about a hour ago.

It`s a bad drought here.Dryer than a corn cob as daddy used to say.

The story you linked doesn't mention it, but the guy in Nolensville(the one near Nashville) is a captain in the Volunteer Fire Department

Many newbies don't measure the oil, over fill the pot and then put the bird in only to watch as the oil spills over and catches fire...

Found this recent news photo with the caption: "A fireman demonstrates how easily fryers can burn if overfilled with oil."

I wonder who's patio the fireman just ruined doing this demonstration?
