I believe you and CNN's dismissive attitude about this matter doesn't help them. FOX did a demo of this on Fox and Friends yesterday. It can be deliberately generated with the simple press of a button on a switching panel. Seems it's less likely, but possible that the image could be fed from another source.

What I really find disturbing is the content of this taped complaint call to CNN posted on another thread yesterday. I cannot believe the rude behavior of the CNN staffer. These people are more severely disturbed than I imagined:

My assumption since Drudge first posted the freeze frame on his web site has been that a technician in the control room did it.

Either he did it on his own hook, or someone ordered him to.

What is certain is that a quick investigation could narrow it down to the perpetrator with no trouble at all. Also, that the bosses at CNN could not possibly doubt for a minute what happened.

What is evident from that is that whether or not they gave this technician orders to do it, they strongly approve of what he did, and they intend to cover up for him.

After all, the whole culture at CNN involves forwarding the left wing agenda by whatever means necessary. To permit this technician, a hero in their eyes, to be punished would be as good as to admit that what they themselves do every day is wrong.

Aye, there's the key unexplained pieces of evidence. In almost 20 years of operation this is the VERY FIRST time this has happened on CNN - and it's not reported to have happened on any other network, either. So the timing is awfully convenient for, say, a liberal Democrat.

Here's the problem that CNN has - IF we are to believe that the problem was caused by a "glitch" in the switcher, what caused the "crawl" to appear below the televised picture of the Vice-President? A "switcher glitch" doesn't explain either action.

CNN is condoning the actions of one or more people in the control room and signaled that this was acceptable behavior when they immediately excused it as a "glitch". Despite the claim that they are conducting an "investigation", don't expect anything substantive to come out of it that discovers who at CNN actually did it.

CNN has just spit on the Vice-President of the United States and they're going to get away with it.

Yes, You're right. My Father was an engineer at WCMH TV4 for something like 35 years till he retired from there. I've been in the control room many times in my younger years and I know they did that on purpose.

Regardless of the "explanation" from CNN, accident or intentional, the preponderance of the evidence suggests strongly that it was an intentional subliminal "attack".

These sorts of events, the bullseye on Bush, the X on Cheney, the choices of unflattering pictures when reporting on conservative personalities, the Rice "doctored" photo.....these sorts of treatments do not happent to Demoncrats or the other assorted flotsam and wastes of human skin that the MSM loves, admires and supports.
