This is a crock. Turkey has been under the umbrella of the US's nuclear weapons for 40+ years. We have had nuclear weapons in Turkey for a long time we just maintained custody of them. They would have been loaded on Turkish planes for delivery into the USSR during the cold war era.
The world has changed but Turkey has been a player in the game of nuclear weapons for several generations now.

Not so fast.

Those are USA Nukes under USA command and control.

I think the notion of Turkey trying to aquire its OWN seperate nuclear weapons is a valid question for consideration.

Imagine what being a nuclear weapons player does to their EU application.

It is only natural for a nation to want to have its own independent nuclear wepons. If Pakistan can do it, why not turkey? North korea starved their own people to get nukes, turkey has had few qualms about mistreating inhabitants.

I think it would be wise to prevent rather than wait for hand wringing after the fact.
