Speaking of that, there was some tv sitcom with Fanken on it with G. Gordon Liddy in a guest appearance. Franken was given a revolver as an award for something (all this was on the show and not real) and was goofing around with it and accidentally discharged it and shot Liddy in the arm (grazing wound). Liddy stomped over and snatched it out of Franken's hands calling him a stupid liberal moron who should NEVER have a gun.

That was the only episode I ever watched and that was because the G-man was on it.

Did you actually see this happen? I cannot imagine folks giving Franken (or anyone else) a LOADED gun on a TV set.

The show was "Lateline" from around 98. (Megan Pryce was hot -- still is, on whatever show it is that she's on now.)

My wife recently rented the series. The show is actually funny (especially the Buddy Hackett episode) though Al is one of the weaker points on it. Good ensemble.

Liddy was on 2 or 3 episodes. A lot of Washington insiders showed up (then-current House, Senate and Admin people, Bob Bennett), none of whom were ever accused of confusing TV with reality, like, say, Dan Quayle.
