Police Hit Man in Genitals With Taser (Not your usual "Police Brutality" story :)

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. Nov 22, 2005 — Police accidentally hit a naked man in the genitals with a Taser after he was caught breaking windows and asking women to touch him, authorities said.

Jeremy J. Miljour, 26, tried to run away when sheriff's deputies approached so one of them shot their Taser, said Cpl. Matt Chitwood. But one of the gun's prongs accidentally hit Miljour's genitals and got stuck, Chitwood said.

"The Taser is relatively accurate, but when someone is moving like that, it doesn't matter if you have a Taser, or a pistol. (Officers) can't aim," Chitwood said.

Miljour was treated at a hospital before being taken to the Lee County jail. He was charged with indecent exposure, resisting an officer and criminal damage.

Why is that? I consider myself Libertarian, but that doesn't equal "lets have no law enforcement". agreed... i'm a libertarian, and i agree with the police in this particular news story.

I know some anarcho-capitalist friends who are adamant that punishment should not be meted out until property rights are violated, and even then, the punishment should fit the violation.

Police accidentally hit a naked man in the genitals with a Taser after he was caught breaking windows and asking women to touch him, authorities said. i dunno its pretty clear the suspect was breaking the law.. punishment is justified.

As a libertarian, I say that if you wish to bring your 'nads to a taser fight, that's your business. No one in government ought to tell you what you can or can't do with your own 'nads and a taser.

So what's the conservative take on this? Should there be a Federal 'nad czar appointed? A War on 'Nads? Federally funded anti-'nad education in pre-schools? Where are you going with this?

As far as I know libertarians don't support naked vandals and sex criminals. And while embarrassing the tazer is a less-than-lethal use of force. Well done by the police. What else is there to say?

They think only the violation of property rights merits punisment?

That is bizzare. I don't think that's mainstream libertarian at all.

It is the anarcho-capitalist libertarians.....they are quite mainstream in the LP. I know this for a fact because a friends of mine are on state LP committees.
