Convicted murderer and Crips founder, Stanley "Tookie" Williams, set to be executed Dec. 13, has used his prison time to write books urging children to stay out of gangs, among other peace-preaching efforts. Should clemency be given to deathrow inmates who pursue such activities?
Took a while to get there at 3/4 impulse (dialup) but consider it freeped.
Sure. Just as soon as we figure out a way to bring his victims back to life.

C'mon.... He's a murderer and a thug! His efforts after conviction are to keep his butt outta the fiery depths of HELL! Sincere or otherwise, its for God to decide.
Let's see. I plan a murder. If caught, I either find religion or become a social model in order to be spared.
It could be legit, but how can we tell the difference?
He knew what he was doing and the consequences of being caught. End of story.
The best message he could send to children is to show the children what happens to people who do what he did.

Does anyone have a timeline on when he started these "peace preaching" efforts and how they coincided with his appeals process?

Oh, and there's the matter of the three others he murdered. All from one family. Thsai-Shai Yang, Yen-I Yang, and Yee Chen Lin. Immigrants from Tiawan they owned an area hotel. The mother was murdered first. She died immediately with the father shot second and then daughter. He left father and daughter to die on the floor. They perished en route to a hospital.
