MOSCOW, November 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will display state-of-the-art small arms designed for anti-terrorism police units at the 14th international security exhibition MILIPOL PARIS 2005 that opens in the French capital Tuesday, Russia's arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Monday.

"Russian enterprises will demonstrate more than a hundred models of special equipment, many of which have no counterparts in the world and will be displayed for the first time," the company's press service said.

The SPP-1M 4.5 mm underwater pistol, the PB-4-1ML self-defense pistol, the AS 9-mm special automatic rifle, a 9-mm sniper rifle with the PSO-1-1 optic sight, and other small arms, ammunition, optic sights, and armor vests will be on display.

Russian pavilions will also display world-famous assault weapons such as the SR-1 Gyurza 9-mm self-loading pistol, the SR-2 9-mm submachine gun, and the SR-3 compact assault rifle.

Most special arms sold on foreign markets are designed specifically for urban warfare. These highly-accurate weapons have a limited destruction range, which reduces the possibility of casualties among civilians, hostages, and special police officers, the press service said.

If I have to start carrying a pistol while I am underwater, the terrorists have won.

Having a look at those weapons will be interesting.

Still trying to figure out if 'Paris Security Exhibit' is an oxymoron though.

The underwater pistol has a great future in Bond movies. You're sneaking about beneath the evil guy's yacht, when here come the scuba goons with knives...and you've got your underwater pistol.
