Dodd Pondering a Bid in 2008
At a movie night for political and media insiders last night, Steve Clemons says Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) "unofficially conveyed his interest in running for the presidency in 2008."
Of course this shouldn't be too much of surprise since Dodd almost ran last time and a possible White House bid was a topic of discussion after last year's elections.

This running for POTUS business is just that -- a revenue raising scheme. All these fellows who couldn't be POTUS if they were the last ones alive are out there simply collecting money. I wonder how they report that to the IRS? The "campaign" pays for services rendered. What a scam.

You are on to something, but I think it is more about craving attention. For some, it is really quite pathological, ala Senator Schumer, who is a very smart and effective guy in the opposition, but hurts himself by opining for the media about anything and everything, all the time, at the earliest possible moment.

Maybe Dodd can get Kennedy to switch his support from Kerry to himself, given their little bonding affair. Just a thought.

Dodd Pondering a Bid in 2008 Just another RAT who is far more interested in opportunism for self-gratification than working for the betterment of the nation now and for our future. I wish there was a law that banned any Congressman or Senator from seeking a higher office if they had served more than two terms as Senator or six terms as a Congressman. At this stage, all they do is spin for a larger "market share" of public opinion. If they were doing good for the nation, their poll numbers would be down.

Wasn't Nixon a Senator? Not when he was elected. LBJ had been a Senator also.

Yes. I read the original "waitress sandwich" account decades ago, it seems. The 2 liberal New England Democrat Senators were both drinking heavily (surpise) and in Geogretown as I claerly recall.
