Another thing the just makes one want to give up on the MSM as far as accuracy. From Howard Kurtz in today's Post: "Fitzgerald has said Plame had covert status."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/21/AR2005112101378.html

That is flat out inaccurate.

"Libby has been charged with lying."

If the so called lie was different statements between what the three reporters have said and the FBI, this is pure bull sh@@. If the lie was between two FBI agents, then it is a matter of how important the discrepancy was. It has to be germane to the case. A laps in memory of something that happened years ago is determined to be a lie, then maybe we have to question the FBI if it was truly a lie of a laps of memory, or a poorly asked question.

"Wilson's wife worked at the CIA as a weapons of mass destruction analyst."

That's what she was. She went from being a field agent to being an analyst. It's not unusual for federal employees to change job classifications. When her cover was blown, the Agency had to find a spot for her, so they shifted her to analyst.

"If the Democrats truly were concerned about classified information leaks, they would have shoved a gag in Senator Patrick Leahy's mouth a long time ago."

They're not concerned about leaks. They want every leak they can use for political advantage.

So now Mitchell is lying. How long does she think she can get away with it.

Yeah, whatever else he was, Wilson was definitely not an objective observer. His wife, of all people, should have known this and should not have recommended him for this trip.

"If Woodward uncovers the collusion between Plame, Wilson, and other CIA fellow travelers to damage Bush in time for the Kerry candidacy, he will be the most famous reporter ever."

That story is so obvious, most of us on FR could write it. Or we could piece it together from what other Freepers have written. I think the reason it's not being written is that reporters don't want us to know how devious and politically motivated their usual sources are. Pincus, Kristof, and Corn all understood what their sources were up to.

Let me see if I have this straight.

There was no leak because it was common knowledge that Valerie Plame worked at the CIA as an analyst.

Libby is going on trial for 'lying' to the grand jury about a leak that never really happened. What Libby told the grand jury and what the MSM Democrat reporters, who had an agenda to get rid of the Bush Administration, told the grand jury was different.

Wilson, Valerie Plame's husband has a problem with the truth. He cannot keep his 'stories' straight but Libby is the one going on trial.

Now we have Woodward saying he knew that the leak was not from Libby because he knew that Plame worked for the CIA as an analyst long before Libby did.

Talk about confused, none of this makes any sense and contains absolutely no logic.

Woodward had things he wanted to say and he had to figure out how to say them in spite of the mindless blubbering of Larry King. That was one thing that Woodward obviously wanted to put on the public record. I do not believe that Woodward is a totally honest broker, he knows if he plays his cards right that he will have journalistic access to another book that no other journalist will have. So he may be telling the truth for his own self-serving reasons but it is still the truth which blows this Alice in Wonderland prosecution of a non-crime right out of the water.

Woodward states source was male, so I guess that nixes our laugh track.....not Mary Matlin (who got it from James Carvell who got it from Joe Wilson).

Too bad. Made a good joke.

I still say it is George Tenet, That's the only person who could make everyone laugh if he is the source. Just think of it, The CIA demands an investigation on who leaked and it turns out to be George Tenet, the Director :-)

The key to it is that Libby isn't charged with lying about a leak or even a leak that never happened. He's charged with lying about who first told him the name and occupation of a woman ( I forget her name) who was not a covert CIA agent.

Of course all the real liars are writing books, doing TV interviews and otherwise plotting and attempting to execute the overthrow of a sitting President.

But hey, Sherlock Fitshooey is on the case and he's gonna slap them donkeys all the way to the White House.
