(Cedar Rapids - KCRG) -- Casey Frederiksen appeared in federal court once again this morning for his arraignment. You'll remember Frederiksen is engaged to Noel Miller, the mother of five-year-old Floyd county murder victim Evelyn Miller. Frederiksen faces fourteen counts for possessing and receiving child pornography. Tuesday morning, he pleaded not guilty to all of those charges.
The court proceeding lasted less than five minutes. No one from Frederiksen's family came to show him support.
Just as in every one of his previous appearances, Frederiksen did not show any emotion at all. But, his physical appearance has changed a bit. He now has a shorter haircut.
After Frederiksen pleaded not guilty to all counts, his attorney asked Judge Jarvey to give her more time to prepare for trial.
Defense Attorney Jane Kelly asked for the trial to be pushed back to early April. She told the judge the charges Frederiksen faces are complex, so that's why she needs that extra time.
The judge said he will consider that request, but he needs to check the judicial calendar first. The prosecutor had no objection to that extension.
Remember, prosecutors have not charged anyone in connection to the murder of Evelyn Miller. But, the Floyd County Attorney's office insists the murder investigation is still moving forward. The murder investigation is separate from the child pornography investigation.
