Oh yeah!
Well I'm gonna fry an egg on your head, too. So there!
DA740
Many jurisdictions have started using the term "sexual assault" rather than rape, but it is the same law.
I agree. However, I'll take public stoning over Ol' Sparky any day.
I'd prefer to say: He get's the job done, ultimately and at every interval and whether good or evil, we will all act our part, but please God, let our part be good.
I don't let either of my children do sleep overs. Son or daughter.
Children, of all ages, belong home in bed at night. Period. I set that parameter when they were very young, and it has been easy to keep it up as they've gotten older.
I'm such a mean mommy.
I will not condemn these parents with the information I have because they appear to be trying to do the right things.
That said, I take the lessons you outlined very seriously. We need to learn from mistakes others make. Whenever something like this happens, I want to know as much as possible about what happened and techniques used by BOTH families in raising their children.
I want to learn as much as I can in order to keep my children safe...and, to be honest, do everything I can to keep them out of the circumstances that lead them to do horrible things to the people around them. I have always thought that if my child was killed, I would be horrified and saddened. But to have your child be the perpetrator would be almost unbearable.
I just said something similar to my husband this morning.
Yes, the lawyers will be looking for a way to keep her "victim" status...
I pity her siblings. This is gonna get so ugly.
§ 3122.1. Statutory sexual assault.
Except as provided in section 3121 (relating to rape), a person commits a felony of the second degree when that person engages in sexual intercourse with a complainant under the age of 16 years and that person is four or more years older than the complainant and the complainant and the person are not married to each other.
And this contradicts the earlier, sibling reports, which stated that he went looking/calling for her after the shootings...!
Where's that, and when?! Everything I have read indicated they were treating her as a victim until discovered otherwise, and no charges for her were being discussed.
I bet she gets off, with a deal to testify against Mr. Ludwig, at best.
I think this was in her own words. Her siblings were hiding. She had to step over the bodies to get to her boytoy.
That situation is just unspeakably sad. How anyone can look at that and still maintain that there is not a tragic flaw deeply ingrained in humanity is beyond me. I can see elements of myself in all three characters, save the intervention from an outside source. Stuff like that reminds me of why I am INTELLECTUALLY a Christian (as opposed to a personal commitment). The older I get, the more I see that the biblical description of man matches observed data. Calvin called it a "bombed out cathedral." Images of awe inspiring glory mixed with ruin, destruction and ravage. He was dead on.
Actually, both are from her testimony, and I do not see how they are self contradictory. She saw him shoot the dad, was headed out the door when he shot her mom. He then left the house and called for her. He then got in the car and started to leave, and she ran after him. He saw her and stopped. I can't see how these elements of her story contradict each other.
Death to both of those little brats.
The news reports didn't say whether kara had been interviewed by police, and this answers that question. I wonder which family member is going to volunteer to raise this girl, if she doesn't get charged with something.
Boy, are you clueless!
Please contemplate the terms "original sin" and "free will" before further posting - or try raising some daughters. Each kid is different, and they will sometimes choose paths that cause you pain. But unless you lock them up until they are 18, you cannot totally prevent it.
And if you do lock them up, they will go their own path when they get free.
You can guide, but not control. And this girl sounds like she has a very evil heart. Her boyfriend, from the sound of it, not only killed her parents but would have killed her siblings if he could have found them. She ran past their dead bodies to join him. She deserves the death penalty, but she won't get it.
