Pa. Girlfriend May Face Charges

"If she is charged because she was part of the planning, if she is charged because she was sort of a co-conspirator, she will face murder charges, even if she didn't pull the trigger. And the important thing to know about this, in terms of Pennsylvania law, is because she's 14, she's old enough to be transferred to adult court, be prosecuted as an adult and face, not the death penalty because of her age, but life behind bars."

In some of the IMs between Kara and a friend (on another thread) an additional problem may be referenced: pregnancy.

Kara talks about "the risk" she and David took when he came over (snuck in) to her house and that her friend should butt out because she and David "were going to take care of it."

Or maybe, Man Bites Dog . . .?

Don't know where you're coming from, but:

1. People don't get charged for the purpose of forcing them to testify against someone. There really does have to be a basis in fact and law for the charges. Meaning there has to be probable cause to believe that the person being charged committed a crime.

2. This case is so beyond needing Kara to testify against Ludwig, especially in exchange for immunity. Please. Ludwig has confessed to the crime, including to the fact that it was premeditated. Kara's sister was an eyewitness to the murder of her father and heard the shot that killed her mother. Police found the murder weapon under the front seat of his car. There is evidence that Ludwig had told people in the days before the crime that he "could kill someone and get away with it." Police say they have already found over 400 pieces of potentially material evidence on Ludwig's and Borden's computers.

Yeah, the Rats will be claiming, why should Ludwig get the death penalty, it was "JUST ABOUT SEX".

I was wondering that myself. Would talking to his parents have helped? Did they talk to Kara? In the end, I really don't see what could have been done to avoid this bad outcome so long as Kara was committed to being with Ludwig (which, obviously, she was since she even ran after his car after he murdered her parents) and Ludwig was a nut case who seems to have no hesitation at all at killing.

How about "Accessory Before, And After, The Fact" She had to know and she went with him.

Think what you like on that, but I think you have to agree the prosecutors have no need of any testimony from Kara in order to convict David Ludwig.

If anything, she might testify FOR him in some attempt to make him sympathetic.

Both these kids were not shy about putting all kinds of stuff on their computers. I read the forensic computer analyst quickly found over 400 pieces of potential evidence upon his initial review.
