You are assuming a lot that isn't yet known. But there is just no defense to this horrible crime. And now the other children aren't without their parents because of their sister's lack of common sense. Tragic.
In this case, it sounds like they thought about it for at least a little while. What's that word? Oh yes, pre-meditated. To me, there is no defense for that.
None.
I'd pay to see an old fashioned double hanging.
No, probably told boyfriend many a time "I hate my parents, I wish they were dead"..... like many teens do, particuarly when they stand in the way of their "True Love".......
I am not willing to say this girl is purely a victim, I've seen teenage girls (and boys too) sadly do some incredibly sick things.... and I am not on face value going to say a teenage girl who is obviously in conflict with her parents, isn't willing to plot their murders.. as sad as it is to say... that is the world we live in today.
My feeling is to doubt that her parents did anything to traumatize her. She was just a child who had a taste of the "wild-child" life and just couldn't resist its pull. My DH has two grown daughters from his first marriage (their mother died when the oldest was 18 and the younger 16)--that was 18 years ago. These two were so incredibly wild teenagers, especially the 18 year old. From the time she was 12-13, she was causing them terrible problems. She had a taste of the "wild-child" life and just couldn't resist it. She was boy-crazy, and she didn't seem to give one care to the potential disasterous consequences of her actions. Her mom and dad were beside themselves with grief, worry, despair over what she would put them through and how to handle her rebellion. It put a tremendous strain on their family life. Unfortunately, their mother died suddenly when they were 18 and 16, and from there on it was all down hill for both of them. They will always live with the guilt of knowing how miserable they made their mother's life and to have her die when they least expected it. I don't think they'll ever get over the guilt, even to this day. I know it wasn't because they were traumatized when they were young. They will even tell you so to this day.
What's so sad in this case, is that you have a rebellious, disobedient, defiant child towards her parents' authority and it has led to their DEATH. She cannot POSSIBLY have any clue right now of any deep understanding and knowledge as to the utter, total devastation that her willful disobedience and defiance of her parents authority has led to--has totally destroyed her family--imagine what this will always do to her siblings, knowing that because of her rebellion, it caused the death of their parents. Oh, but she will come to see the reality of what has happened here. In time, it will come crashing down on her, and when it does I don't see how she ever get over it.
Or possibly because of their sisters flat out selfishness and cold bloodedness.... She may be just a passive victim in this, but it is not beyond possibility that she was involved in the plotting and planning of it as well.
She's not a victim. She's criminal.
Again, who is to say she is simply a victim? Do you know for a fact she didn't collude with this guy to have her parents murdered so she could do whatever she wanted?
Sadly, that scenario is not impossible... particularly from a teenage girl in heavy conflict with her parents.
Right now my gut tells me she's directly involved in this (not by disobeying her parents, but directly involved in plotting this thing), and it wasn't just boyfriend snapped.... I could be wrong, I pray I am wrong... but as of right now, I'm not willing to blindingly accept, she knew nothing about and was kidnapped from the home.
It will be interesting watch the various gas station security cameras from their cross country trip together.
Did she have the opportunity to escape?
Was she having fun on the trip with no intent of escaping?
Second, it will be interesting to hear what the sibilings say about her actions or inaction during her parents execution.
did you see this?

Kara was not the only one who fell for this nut case. He apparently used his "faith" to seduce another Christian girl in Hawaii (a relationship he had not fully wrapped up when he was with Kara). Then he apparently convinced the girl it was his fault they had "gone so far," that she was a "stumbling block" to his Christian walk, etc.
He ended up getting the girl to apologize to him for not being strong enough to resist his advances!
May????? Of course she will. They will charge her in order to force her to testify against him in exchange for immunity.
Sheesh...Dog BItes Man....NEXT!
Yeah, maybe Daddy-O prohibiting him from seeing Kara was "unbearable," but Ludwig sure came prepared.
He didn't put all those guns in the car for nothing.
You sort of knew this was a possibility as soon as she "lawyered up".
What's fairly amazing about this case is that there were apparently at least a few fellow teen-agers in their circle who were trying to warn them off this relationship.
That is both heartening (some kids have sense and courage) and it underscores the point that if even other kids could tell that the relationship was no good, wow . . .
There was another thread with IMs between Kara and a friend. The friend was talking quite frankly to Kara about how she needed to change the direction she was headed with Ludwig, but Kara told her to buzz off.
Oh I agree whole heartedly, he came prepared. That brings me to believe the girl and him after spending the night having sex had some deep conversations. Horny teenage girls can be ruthless.
I agree: I don't see how she can ever possibly get over this.
Of course, I do believe that forgiveness can be accepted. But that still leaves the human consequences of her actions, which can never be erased.
Imagine: even if she somehow achieves a "normal" life sometime in the future, what will she tell her husband/children/grandchildren about what happened to her parents, etc.?
Wait for the hysteria when the libs hear the "death penalty" mentioned. (As if there's a snowball's chance in Hell this kid would every actually get the juice, regardless of the sentence.)
What could parents have done to keep her away from this 18 yr old?
