By sheer coincidence,
Blackhawk Down was shown on HBO last Sunday. First time I'd seen it.
And, without looking for it, I was struck and angered by the exchange during the preparation for the "simple extraction":
"We requested a C1-130 and armored personnel carriers, and we were refused..."
The rage I felt at that moment was palpable...
First rapist... blue-dress legacy... snake oil orator... trailer trash to the end.

Murtha may have been a Marine and know a lot about commanding a Company or a battalion, but this does not make him an expert on the bigger picture.
Maybe getting elected to the Congress makes him an expert. It did for Biden, Kennedy, Kerry and their ilk.

Yep, as it is now, OBL and his murderous band of scum know that if a Demwit is in the WH, they can just bloody the military's nose and the punk cowards will pull the troops home.

Would someone please enlighten me as to Colin Powell's involvement in the Somalia tragedy? I seem to recall that beside the worthless Lew Aspin, Powell was involved as well.

Murtha may have been a Marine and know a lot about commanding a Company or a battalion, but this does not make him an expert on the bigger picture.My own thought is that Murtha is obsessed with inter-generational jealousy.
His generation of Marines (Army, Air Force, etc.) fought valiantly but were stabbed in the back by the left and have to live as veterans of a US defeat.
The prospect of this military generation actually winning and living out their lives as victorious vets is something he can't stomach.
So he's doing what he can to see that they also lose.
