We've just released a new study on corporate taxation around the globe.
Bottom line: the U.S. is a global leader in yet another areahigh corporate tax rates...
The United States has the highest overall corporate income tax rate (39.3 percent combined federal and sub-federal) among all countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
(see table below).
Japan (39.0 percent) and Germany (38.9 percent) have the second and third highest corporate income tax rates.
The nation with the lowest corporate income tax rate in the OECD is Ireland (12.5 percent).

Naturally, some profit actually belongs to the public sector for attracting business through roads and, umm, mail service, and ummm...
Oh just give it all away for re-distribution! They deserve it for working so hard!

But but... They're socialists in Europe. This obviously can't be true.
To: george76
That probably explains Ireland's success.

Under the fair tax corporate taxes would be eliminated, but since corporations have never paid taxes, only people do, elimination of the so called 'corporate taxes' can lead to increase wages and price reduction.....competition of the free market will help ensure that.
Let the people feel and see the full tax that they pay, make all taxes visible, get rid of all the stealth taxes that we pay now and maybe people will care enough to keep their thumbs on the Washington bureaucrats. Right now the average sheople have no clue what they pay in taxes...pathetic.

A Taxreform bump for you all.
If anyone would like to be added to this ping list let me know.
John Linder in the House(HR25) & Saxby Chambliss Senate(S25) offer a comprehensive bill to kill all income and SS/Medicare payroll taxes outright and replace them with with a national retail sales tax administered by the states.
H.R.25,S.25
A bill to promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national retail sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

But business taxes aren't an expense, and they have no influence on prices, wages, or rate of return.
Just ask a squirrel.

To: Paul C. Jesup
Sorry to be so slow ... yes, it sure does eliminate all forms of income tax including business income and investment income tax also.
