Kara Borden told detectives she left of her own free will, according to the filing. David Ludwig told detectives the two planned to get married and start a new life together.

OK, raise your hand if you didn’t make any silly boneheaded decisions when you were fourteen.

Well there's a young person who has ruined the rest of her life.

What kind of person plans to marry the murderer of her parents?

(And please don't offer up the excuse that she is only fourteen—that is old enough to know the difference between right and wrong, and to know that murder is wrong.)

Looks like I was right in the original thread about this crime.

It's possible she thought that if she didn't leave when he asked he could have killed the rest of the family, isn't it?

Since she wasn't kidnapped, I hope they charge her with something (accessory?).

If she admits she went on her own with the killer. That makes her an accessory after the fact and perhaps before the fact.

She is a murderer just like he is and should suffer the same punishment.

Children today. In my day, they'd murder maybe one of their parents or a grandparent in a wheelchair, but now!

If this is true and she floats, she better stay in that little settlement of protectors because she will find out how despicable much of the the rest of the world finds her.

Ludwig confessed to the slayings after his arrest and told police where to find the murder weapon in his car

Yeah, a car is a big place. You need help to find a weapon in a big place like a car.

I bet she'll just plead guilty of running after and joining him after the murder took place and that she wasn't even in the same room as he when the triggers were pulled.

I believe that because of her age, she wasn't interrogated. Now she's probably lawyered up. She'll deny everything, including any "pre-planning", no matter what the guy says. She'll plead guilty only to leaving the scene of a crime and any lesser charges they throw at her.

Otherwise, she'll be mute as a rock.

How old do youths have to be to be prosecuted as an accessory after the fact?

Chilling what this generation of creeps is able to do without any conscience.

She's going to claim she was the victim of his undo influences, the prosecutors are going to go for lesser charges against her (or the jury will do it for them) and she'll be out of prison before she's 30, if that long.

Meanwhile, he fries, if he lives that long.

The only glimmer of hope is that perhaps parents will be less likely to accept their barely teenagers going out with adults.

This was to be expected. There's been too much chatter around here that she went willingly. Their "secret" wasn't all that secret.

Just looking at the pics of these two on TV, I'd say she was a little Lolita and he was a hapless dupe. She probably put him up to it because her parents were so mean and wouldn't let her stay out at night. Had he had the maturity of a typical 18 year old, he would have sensed something was wrong with trying to date a 14 year old, no matter how 'hot' she was. I say she gets indited as a co-conspirator any day now.
