Sure, Ga and Al are red states, but Birmingham and Atlanta are solid blue islands in a red sea.

I wonder if Atlanta is in a blue county though. That would be my guess.

Ohio is a nominally red state too, but up here around Cuyahoga county (the Cleveland area), forget it: true blue.

Your profile says you've been stationed at Benning a couple of times. You know what color Atlanta's leadership is, and you should know that Georgia hasn't had a republican governor who has completed a full term in over a century and a quarter.
