It's the right landing gear; nose and left landing gear appear fine.
Clouds hanging directly over the runway.

A Nike corporate jet is preparing to make an emergency landing at the Portland International Airport with landing gear problems, according to airport officials.
Seven people are on board the jet, but their names have not been released, according to Steve Johnson with PDX. The jet is most commonly used by Nike's senior exectives.
The plane took off from Hillsboro earlier Monday en route to Toronto, Canada, and was supposed to land in Portland at 9:15 a.m. The landing gear only went down half way and then got stuck, Johnson said.
Authorities have closed Marine Drive, between 33rd and 122nd Avenues, as a precaution.
The pilot was still circling the Portland airport to burn fuel as of 9:43 a.m. This is common practice in an emergency landing situation, to cut back on the risk of fire.
The jet is a Gulf Stream G-5, according to Johnson.

If one side of the landing gear is at 45% angle and the other one is all the way down, they should be able to land on the side of a hill just fine.
That being said, I think they will land safely and hope they do.

Half the gear is a lot less predictable than no gear. This could be real dicey.

One of these days there's going to be a freeway police pursuit AND a plane with landing gear troubles. THEN what will the 24 hours news channels do? Take the broadcast to Aruba?

This is not when pilots earn their pay. They earn it all the time especially in training for this type of a problem.
God be with them and all on board.
Clooney4824: I am not implying that you are thinking otherwise. Just an observation about how good many pilots are.

" left landing gear appear fine. " Of course it would, it's phil knight's jet. I'm suprised that he even has a right landing gear. Just one more reason to hate the evil, extreme right-wing landing gear.
