I wrote to Murtha today (not email, a real letter) and CC'd my congressman and senators. You should also copy to the NY Times, NY Post, WaPo, NBCABCCBSCNNFOX as well as Hugh Hewitt, Glenn Reynolds, Michelle Malkin, Drudge, FR, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Tony Snow and all the rest.

You both were listing things you wished that Cheney would have included in is speech...
I think that if he had, it wouldn't have had the impact they would be looking for...too much info
BUT, from what I have heard, this is supposed to be a "normal" thing now...getting out and telling what is going on...so I bet they saved ya'lls terrific suggestions for future speeches.

Want to bet if he doesn't go the MSM will headline on Friday that: "Bush ignores Troops on Thanksgiving"Nope I won't take that bet. :o) That will be Friday's headlines and Sunday Talk Shows' subject. If he does go - it will be "Bush Brings Politics To Troops" "Bush Interfers With Troop Operations" "Bush Endangers Troops With Visit" "CIC Tries To Shore Up Support Among His Troops" and on and on and on..........

I love this burden of proof talk...it was the major crux of our invasion. Go Richard...IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY...woo HOO! Yes.
He had WMD.
He was supposed to prove that he got rid of WMD.
He didn't prove that he got rid of WMD.
Bye-bye Saddam.

Unfortunately all you're hearing from it on the top of the hour radio news casts are an apology to Murtha, and encouraging others to be more like Murtha.

"That's a strange thing to say."
I think it's a very fitting thing to say. He's a U.S. citizen who is not able to vote for President or Congress, yet supports the War on Terror and President Bush (as do the thousands of Puerto Ricans in the 5 branches of the U.S. military, the Reserves and the Puerto Rico National Guard that have fought in Afghanistan and Iraq) because it is the right thing to do. When some loser from Florida whines that he is "disenfranchised" and that he thus can't support the WOT, he should look to how real patriots react to actual disenfranchisement---and treason is not the answer.

The Nazis and the Pearl Harbor attacks were not connected either.

I see your very valid point. I understand now, and agree with the gravity of what the caller said.

B.C. was our 42nd President? Who came after him, Cathy or Garfield?

"B.C. was our 42nd President? Who came after him, Cathy or Garfield?"
Garfield was our 20th President; after his assassination, his Vice President, Chester "Odie" Arthur, acceded to office.
And if Cathy can't even get a man to marry her, how the heck can she get any men to vote for her? (Putting on my flame suit : )

The Nazis and the Pearl Harbor attacks were not connected either. That's a very astute point. Notwithstanding Axis military arrangements, Hitler, in fact, was unaware that Japan would strike at Pearl Harbor. Germany, in fact, had been working very hard at keeping the US out the war. Indeed, then Hitler made a huge mistake in declaring war on the United States. If he had not, Roosevelt would have been unsuccessful at getting Congress to declare war on Germany.
