Get ready..make a fresh pot of coffee. Put the baby down for a nap. Hold all your calls.. VP Dick Cheney will be delivering a major response to the Dems who want to cut and run from Iraq in a LIVE speech from the Heritage Foundation. On C-span 1 at 11 AM, scheduled for one hour. and you can expect all the cable news nets to carry it...and then Rush is back today, and will explain it all for us again..and it would NOT surprise me if the Veep turns up as a special guest on Rush's show today..
Will this speech appear on one of my favorite threads??? ;*)
My mom called just as he started speaking and I wasn't going to tell her the VP's speech was more important. So will watch for C-Span tonight and hope. Let me know if you see a transcript anywhere.
And my reply stands:
It's up to us to repeat these points, over and over again, evertime anyone opens their yap with the leftist talking points.
It's not up to the White House, it's up to us to counter the spin. We've done it before, even over White House objections. Why is this task different?
Not to mention over 60 million voted to stay the course just one short year ago.
This is a key question: is this a situation like Nazi Germany, where an intervention in the early- to mid-30s would have probably ended the threat much more cheaply? Or is it more along the lines of the Spanish American War, where the real rationale for the war was much different from the publicly stated provocation, the explosion of the USS Maine?
It's pretty clear that the situation is far closer to the former than the latter -- we're responding to a legitimate world threat, and not simply building up Cheney's Halliburton stock options.
The question is whether or not we can still have an honest enough national debate about this.
When you get down to it, THAT is the most important issue here. The national Dems are being profoundly dishonest. There's no other way to put it. Framing this in terms of "honest debate" is an incredibly powerful approach. One hates to call it a "political strategy," but in part that's what it is -- and it's not a bad thing, either. The national interest depends on the political defeat of craven politicians (not all of whom inhabit the ranks of the Democrat Party).
Is she the one that said she was tired of the media not showing any of the good things our soldiers were doing in Iraq? I was going to ask which one of you called in. LOL
It is what it is. These perps need to be called out for what they are... TRAITORS.
Good speech by VP Cheney. Focused and on message. The President, the VP and the entire administration need to speak out more often and defend itself from outrageous charges of lying to and misleading of the American people. This is no time to cut and run from the fight in Iraq. Lets finish the job we started.
EXCELLENT!!! Thanks sleuth!
Not to offend you.
Unless anyone's been in a cocoon... it's not just about us. The left is spinning and re-spinning constantly, so the facts have to continue to be put out there; IMO, since it's not being reported anywhere else... the more the better.
Ive heard statistics a million times, and have records that some intel folks probably don't have... and I read them (unlike Reid and five others on the committee), but everytime it's put out there something or the other sparks my memory or an issue I needed to follow through on more (let's face it, with you read the UN and other reports as well as Hussein a decade of defiance... you just don't have energy to check those other links you were thinking about).
So, if you're ready to stand down and are tired of hearing it... by all means do so, the banner will be carried regardless and it's another opportunity for democrats to perhaps think about the facts or check it out.
BTW, When is the last time you even heard any thing good that's being done in Iraq in the HBMedia? A frontpage photo in the NYT of a newly built school for girls, a rejuvenated market business, the revenues and the fully operational oil lines... I thought so.
Most libs I've heard say 9-11 occured because the muzzies are mad we've "taken all their oil". Utter nonsense of course.
When asked on Fox if the dems could win on this "Bush misled the people" platform:
"We got the intellignce the White House gave us.."
Breux is saying "Stay the course? Why stay the course when we aren't getting anywhere? That's what people are saying..How are we not going to be there next year at this time?..
I am shocked at Breux..I can still be shocked. I have misjudged him...He is a shameless, troop undermining, partisan hack after all.
Geez grampa... no tradesport up on it yet... but I say, all of the above. It's Biden's turn... and Pelosi of course.
Bump
#323...GREAT POST!
Another big lie that the RATS and the MSM are peddling: that Bush said that the threat from Iraq was "imminent."
Bush said no such thing. In fact, he said,"after 9-11, we are not going to wait for the threat from Iraq to become imminent, because then it is too late."
RATS and media are scheming liars.
