I so wish that Cheney would reconsider running for President. He just oozes command and respect. I don't blame him for wanting out. I pray his sense of duty and love of country draw him to conclude that the country needs him.

He's the only potential candidate I could see myself fighting for out in the trenches.

They aren't. That's the sad thing. The MSM will play this down and basicall give Cheney two inches of column space tomorrow saying he made a speech about the war on terror.

What the MSM will do is get a quote from Schumer, Biden, Kennedy and Pelosi saying that Cheney was condescending to the House and Senate and he, Rummy, Bush and Condi should resign.

Then they will do the obligatory anti-Bush poll and once again say his numbers are at the mendoza line.

There was a soldier talking to a peace protester downtown Andover Mass. I overheard the soldier stating he just returned home from Iraq on the front lines. He asked a man in the group of peace nics why he opposed what our military was doing in Iraq. All I heard was liberal dribble for an answer.

I walked up to the soldier and stated "thank you for serving our country" I shook his hand put my arm around his shoulder then proceeded to state "Its amazing to me that all these people holding peace flags actually think we can hold hands with terrorists and sing Kum Bi Ya then I walked away"

This is the point I have trouble understanding why the 'Rat revisionists don't get.

This particular group of 'Rats is more interested in gaining the political upper hand by whatever means available. This is an issue that can be manipulated to their advantage, and that's really all that matters to them.

Others, like Rep. Murtha, are probably more honest in their motives, albeit wrong in their conclusions. Murtha is a nervous nelly whose own experiences and ego makes him think that the situation today is exactly what he had faced before. David Hackworth was another of these types.

Excellant speech. Bush did tell us it would be a long and drawn out war. We've all got to realize you can't negotiate a settlement with cockroaches (which is what terrorists are). Terrorists should NOT be protected by the Geneva Convention either. They are not in uniform and target civilians. Tie them to lamp posts in Iraq and shoot them in the head. Leave the body for their relatives to claim.
