I wanted to post a follow-up about our returning war hero. First of all thank you FReepers for posting all your heart felt comments to him. I gave him a copy of all the comments and he was visibly moved.
He was met at the airport by a group of eight of us, all with signs cheering his arrival. We then went to my friends house and had a welcome home party for him. A number of other people came over and it turned out to be a real nice party for him.
He was very willing to talk about Iraq and showed us many pictures which were so interesting. In our conversations with him,he seemed positive about his time over there. His most prized possession is a coin, I believe it is called a Generals Coin that he recieved from a Four Star General for fixing his computer.
Our soldier is a wonderful young man and I am so thankful that my friend and her family have invited him to be a part of their home. He was taking a picture of everyone in the kitchen and at that moment he told me that it had been so long since had seen family he needed to get it on film. I knew then he was home.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing and please pass along my thanks to your soldier for his service.AWB
I'm not familiar with the 'rest of the story'...did this soldier not have family? Bless him <>
I meant previous not pervious.....as in post. It is not my fault I am a product of public school education....sorry for the bad spelling
Please let him know again that ALL of us are very proud of him and grateful for his service!!!
Please let him know we are so very proud of the job he and his fellow soldiers are doing. We are bursting with pride. Thank him for my family and me.
Awesome job soldier!
AWESOME! Sorry I missed the first part of this. If you still can, please thank him from me for his service!
I guess his parents are divorced and he has been on his own since he was 17,he is now 19. He came back from Iraq last week and been deployed since April. There was no one to meet him at the airport in his home state so my friend invited him here to Indiana to spend Thanksgiving with her family. I think he is toying around with the idea of moving here....
Please tell him thanks for me and my 4 daughters!!!!
If he is ever in Northern California he's **welcome** in the Tiggywinkle home!
(((motherly hug for him)))
Bless his heart. He needs to begin anew, with those who *want* to be family.
Welcome home to your hero son. Mine returned 1 year ago at Thanksgiving.
The subject of my tag line was a member of my son's Company.
Ping to all the HH denizens to welcome home this fine young man.
