A high former police official of Tacoma (was it the Chief -- I can't remember) is currently on trial in my town for the murder of a well-liked community college instructor (retired), who my family knew. The alleged murder took place after some kind of an argument between the men following a fishing trip. There was also the murder or murder/suicide (I'm a little vague on the recollection) by another Tacoma high-ranked police or fire official a couple of years ago.
