I am in the worst place in Iraq and we have yet to capture or kill any insurgent that was not an Iraqi. They are here somewhere, we just have yet to see them. And this is on my on my third trip.
Oddly enough the locals will say we are the problem and then say we can't leave until it is safe. I am positive that they are all insane.

That is apparently the issue. Too many US troops and we'll piss them all off; Iraqi troop training and leadership evaluation seems to take forever. It's a delicate balance if we hope to get the country up on its own feet and headed our way in the long run. I'd heard that at least some of the local Sunni clan leaders do not have logic as their main strength. Apparently some are described as "Iraqi hillbillies". Definately go'n'na' take some time, unfortunately.
