We are in the business of winning wars, not abandoning them.

I believe the goal of this crowd is something very different. The real plan for Iraq has always been the establishmend of permanent airbases, four of them if my information is correct.

We need these airbases and we need a stable area to operate from before the sh!t hits that fan in Saudi Arabia. And it will hit the fan, we're just stalling the inevitable.

The real goal of these left wing defeatist sounding morons is to force the administration to show their hand and admit that we have no intentions of actually "leaving" Iraq and that this has been the plan from day one.

Don't get me wrong, I fully support the establishment of permanent bases and the rest of the plan to overhaul that entire section of the planet. The problem is, admitting this publicly will not fly well in the U.N. and likely violates a number of their whiney @ssed policies (and probably some silly-@ssed treaty or some nuance of international law).

WMD was the cover story that gave our coalition partners a pallatable publicly acceptable reason to participate. Once the WMD story fell completely flat (at least according to the MSM), that's when the hammering began and much of it by people who know full well what the real plan is and has always been.

This will be interesting to watch it play out, but no one, including Mr. Murtha should be decieved into thinking we are "leaving" Iraq. It simply ain't gonna happen

there will likely be troop reductions in 2006 - we all know that, we have known that for a while. you can see the spin that will come from the left in this interview - any pullout will be spun as "Bush is cutting and running".

It's always sad to see a good man succumb to the Kool Aid of the looney left.

What makes a once brave man turn so yellow inside as this?

Many a Marine is rolling in their graves to hear one who was once one of them encourage their brothers to cut and run.

"I have never seen such an outpouring in the 32 years I've been in Congress, of support and people with tears in their eyes, people walking along clapping when I'm walking through the halls of Congress, saying something needed to be said. So they're thirsting for a solution to this and the president can't hide behind rhetoric and neither can the vice president.”

O.K. you have had your 15 minutes of frame.

Now shut up and stop thinking because you wore a uniform 35 years ago, qualifies you to run the war

Gost that rep Jean Schmidt got it right the other night. .....Calling attention to the fact that true Marines do not cut and run."

I'd like to see this anachronism Murtha go the way of the Dodo bird.

He opened his mouth, drew attention to himself, and now perhaps people in Pennsylvania may seriously consider his worth as a rep in the Congress. What an asshole.

Amazing how the term "quick pull out by mid-2006" becomes defined as a Democrat "Bright Idea"...as far as I can recall that was the stated PLAN that President Bush mentioned at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the generic criteria for down sizing American Forces in Iraq: An Iraqi Constitution in place, an Iraqi elected government in place & an Iraqi security force in place (and operational). Seems like Murtha would like to take some credit for what he's known was going to happen all along....and somehow snatch a "defeat" from the jaws of a military "victory"...

The only thing the US is pulling out of soon is the Democrat party of cut and run cowards.

Pelosi must have really given Murtha ... his marching orders.

Republicans in the House really did us a big favor. Everytime the Dems make a partisan statement, the Republicans should say "lets have a vote on it!" When the resolution gets few (if any) Dem votes, they say "If the Dems are afraid to vote their convictions it must mean they're partisan idea is out of the MAINSTREAM". This is because, if they vote for the resolution, it can be used to get them voted out of office. It also shows that the Dems in the House don't believe the CBS/NBC/ABC/CNN/MSNBC/Time/Newsweek cooked polls. Would that the Pubbies in the Senate had some brass ones.

He's probably right. I believe the quota of blubbering idiots in Washington does appear to be at a 32 year high.

So they're [the Congress is] thirsting for a solution to this...

John Murtha, listen up.

VICTORY is a SOLUTION!

Murtha, and the rest of these weeping little girls, want so much to play "games", (like tennis), but, none of them has any balls.

I am deeply saddened.
