At least one Arab television media outlet reported that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq, was killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred after coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding.
WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities are looking into whether al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a gunfight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a U.S. official said on Sunday, but a White House spokesman said that was "highly unlikely."

Last I heard he was in Baghdad. How many tons of TNT would it take to blow his carcass to Mosul?

If they didn't know who was in the meeting, how
do they know that there were 8 when it exploded?
Wouldn't be surprised if the tip that lead to
that house, came from Jordan.

I think that bombing of the Islamic wedding was the final straw. Note his odd outburst of apology earlier this week. I suspect, as you suggest, that folks near him decided to rat him out. Possible someone who had a family member injured or killed.

Wasn't Zarqawi missing a leg or something (uh, before the current explosion)? Seems like that would be a quick way to get an idea if he was there.

Just a side note..I heard on Laura Ingram yesterday that Bruce Willis quietly put an additional 1 million dollar reward up for Zarcoward.

Mosul would not be a good place for him to be. We are in bigger numbers there.

I hope there's a DNA record on him... Don't need it. I understand they're finding body parts with tags saying "I am Abu Musab al-Zarqawi" ;-)

I'd be willing to bet that he is now dead. Check my history for my forecasting track record. I can't wait to see some confirmation. After the Iron Bowl yesterday, I need something to cheer me up.
