At least one Arab television media outlet reported that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq, was killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred after coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding.
WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities are looking into whether al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a gunfight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a U.S. official said on Sunday, but a White House spokesman said that was "highly unlikely."

Fox reported AGAIN
UNCONFIRMED REPORTS that al-Zarqawi may have been killed....as one of the 3 suicide bombers who blew themselves up.....said no one is telling FOX that al-Zarqawi was in that building.
I heard it also.It was at 4:29 or so,right before the 4:30 pm news update, and the guy reading it said it TWICE for effect !!
Now Brett is reporting it !!!!!
I do hope we can bring most of our soldiers home in a big World War II style celebration. That is what they deserve for all of their hard work when it is finished. It is not anti-patriotic to want them home, but it is traitorous to want them to fail.
The only professed to be "good boy's" are the bad one's....
He should bring it to his next press conference and throw it at John Roberts.
sorry, are you saying that France and Germany specifically shunned Jordan....or shunned Jordan as part of the "coalition of the willing"?
I just turned over there now. It's sounding better and better!!
Brett just said he hopes he's dead. He'd never get away with that over at CNN.
Brett says.."eyebrows are being raised"...
They have to be sooooo sure before they announce it...
I don't know, everyone-
Fox News is now claiming unconfirmed reports also. This is the strongest rumor we have had in a long time.
Bret has the inside story from the Pentagon. If he is saying it, then there is a good chance it's true.
Yeppers. Zarky had blue eyes, y'know. One of 'em blew north and the other one blew south...
US and Iraqi forces thought before they confronted the house that Zarqawi might have been in there. Might may mean they thought there was a 1% chance, but that is still something. The story isn't nothing.
Katie Couric will hope that he escaped to Syria. Boy I hope this guy is dead. Fox said they are "collecting" evidence. If a bunch of terorists blew themselves up, I'll just bet there is some "collecting" to be done. Fox also said there was a fierce firefight and 11 of ours were wounded.
Katie Couric would hope that he escaped to Syria.
