Your attempts to trivialize, marginalize, or discount the danger posed by our own politicians openly discussing our ending our actions in Iraq do not diminish that danger.

No I recognize that this is still a free country, and Murtha is entitled to his opinions and is free to express them, regardless of his office. I realize that Article III has not been rewritten to define treason as anyone who doesn't agree with your opinion. And I remember that I spent the better part of my adult life serving in the military that took an oath to defend that Constitution. The same oath that our troops in Iraq took. And I am sure that, to a man and woman, they would agree that Murthahas the right to speak his mind regardless.

Yes these enemies are fanatics...but that does not mean they are incapable of planning and preparation that would benefit their misbegotten cause.

They were plotting and planning long before Murtha made his remarks. I have a hard time believing that they're plotting and planning any harder since Friday.

Others can reach their own conclusions on the matter, but I will not only speak out against it, I will do all in my power within my own circles of influence to get these shameless politically motivated efforts to cease and desist.

And you are entitled to do so. If you feel that strongly about the issue then you have a duty to do so. Just like Murtha.

Of course Murtha is free to say what he will. That does not make it right, and does not mean, simply because he wore the uniform, that I have to either accept it or reverence it...any more than I do some of the things Kerry has both said and done since taking that uniform off...and in truth, in some cases, while he still wore it.

If you think for an instant that the enemy at their higher levels are not emboldened and heartened by open talk in the US Congress for immediately withdrawing our own forces, then, IMHO, what can I say. Something about plain as the nose on your face comes to mind...it is obvious to me that they would both take heart by, and plan to capitalize on, such talk. None of that bodes well for our forces.

Thank you. I promise to send her an e-mail of support. She is a brave woman, right on target - and maybe somebody we should be looking at in the future as Presidential matierial.

She has more testicular fortitude than a Congress full of Republican Congressmen - although lately that doesn't amount to much.

Who's the DUmmie? Were the Marine's comments that she quoted accurate? I never implied that Murtha's comments were correct. His latest comment re the war in Iraq are anything but. But you don't seem to like Schmidt, for some reason. Neither do the RATs.

Bravo to Rep.Schmidt, she read a comunique from one of her constituients fighting in Iraq who said it would be cowardice to cut & run. The Dems screamed bloody murder. Yet, "Cut & Run Murtha" read letters from soldiers parents who supported his view of surrender.

Gee, did I ever say Jean Schmidt is my darling? No.

You're assuming facts not in evidence.

Did she do a real good thing in Congress Friday? Yes, IMO, and in the opinion of many others here.

You supported the Highway Bill? If not, Chabot blew that vote. It surprised and disappointed me. I'm hoping for no more repeats.

Schmidt hasn't misstepped yet. If/When she does, I'll be among the critics.

Thanks to Zacs Mom, we have collage of the various rat traitors in Congress who hate America and GW more than our real enemies.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.
An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known, and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor. He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in hearts of men.
He rots the soul of a nation. He works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city. He infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A Murderer Is Less To Be Feared." Cicero, 42 B.C.
