The fact the vote came late Friday night is a real plus as it will be hard for the MSM to spin Murtha's lies without question.
The 'rats thought they had set the stage for a glorious weekend and now they will be busy defending themselves on these shows...

Unfortunately, the media is carrying the dem traitor's water and reporting this as a stunt. At least KCRA in Sacramento was. Not surprising though.

Dear Rep. John Murtha:
Let me show you a REAL Marine. One who served active duty in 3 wars.
You aren't fit to mow the grass on his grave.

Actually, Murtha is just liek John Glenn, a Marine who is a legitimate combat vet who turned tail in his old age.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Excellent article.
Murtha makes me ashamed that he is from Penna.

"Newman was with me on the USS Okinawa in 1980 when he was with RECON, and he served for another 15 or 16 years afterwards."
Thanks. I suppose he was probably in Desert Storm then.

"Ford, being a violent, intolerant liberal wanting to beat up a woman, tipped his hand very nicely. "
Wrong Ford, the one you are talking about had to step down because he was busted in an FBI undercover sting operation. The one on Heartland tonight is his nephew and a Congressman for Memphis.

Didn't serve. No point. I have an interest in military history and was just curious.

The key here is what he is doing and saying now. My father, for example, never, ever abandoned his conservatism, his loyalty to the Marines, his country or his principles. He was a Marine and man of honor when he died 36 years after retiring from the Corps. Rep Murtha's Viet experience notwithstanding, he has abandoned any principles he may have once had.
Ditto for John Glenn.

You got to know when to hold 'em; know when to fold 'em.
Know when to walk away; know when to run.
You don't ever count your money while you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin' is done.
Murtha was holding 3 aces and two 8's
