Reform Judaism represents about 900 synagogues in North America with an estimated membership of 1.5 million people.

They get these stats from the donation rolls of the DNC.

Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the liberal Union for Reform Judaism, said "religious right" leaders believe "unless you attend my church, accept my God and study my sacred text you cannot be a moral person."

Righteous Christians, evangelical Christians, are the best friend of Israel and Jews. Evangelicals visited Israel for Holy land Tours even when the intifada was very bad. I cannot say the same for reform Jews. This man is clueless.

Funny, when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah over homosexuality, above all, the Main Jew (that would be Jesus) was right at His side (see John 1:1) saying "yes," and "amen."

WARNING: "REFORM" JEWS ARE NOT REAL JEWS.

As a Jew, I ask my Christian brothers and sisters to disregard this repulsive piece of shit Yoffie, as well as the fat pig communist Abe Foxman. These scumbags do NOT represent the opinions of religious Jews. Reform Jews are Socialists and depraved promoters of leftist ideology and the homosexual agenda. Thankfully they are so busy dying (ie. Palm Beach), becoming fags and aborting their babies, that in 25 years there will be very few left of them, and they will be replaced by religious Jews, 77% of whom voted for George W. Bush.

Reform Judaism is about as close to Judaism as Bacon is to being Kosher. Jews in name only, not in faith, not in covenant. Little "j" Jews. It is debatable if they are one step ahead of secular Jews, or one step behind. At least secular Jews don't pretend to be religious and stand behind the Torah, when convenient.

CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A, "AW JEEZ.......... ALERT"??

the article should be retitled...
LIBERAL LEADER ATTACKS JEWS FOR FOLLOWING TORAH LAW.

funny how a rabbi (small r on purpose) is so consumed with the gays and less bothered by the ongoing spritual drain of his liberal flock and even less concerned about America or Israel's existential fight against Jihad.

eric you are the definition of a lemming.

lol. Yep. Its a dying denomination anyways. Assimilation and a low birthrate will change that anytime soon. Trust me, we have enough problems keeping people in the Conservative denomination to which I belong. Many of the kids don't care and are marrying out), with not so many coming back (and fewer still in a hardcore way) to the faith. And we're in a far better situation generally than the Reform movement, because a large percentage of us regularly attend Hebrew School as kids, at least, and so a fair number of us do care at least a bit.

The modern Orthodox movement is probably the best poised right now: a good blend of assimilation and orthodox beliefs, lots of kids and low intermarriage rates. Orthodox true also doing well.

This kind of stuff has infuriated me for too long. And now that Anti-Christianity (a thousand times more accurately described as "hate speech" than the way they throw around that term) is on a nearly vertical upward growth spurt, I have plenty more opportunities to be infuriated as a Christian. All that said, Christ said I should take joy when I'm maligned for believing in Him, so I'm trying to adjust my attitude accordingly. It ain't easy, but it's right.

Reform Judaism = ultra-liberal secular Jews.

On the other hand, the official branch of Conservative Jews endorsed John Roberts a few months back.

"Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the liberal Union for Reform Judaism"

More likely:
Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the Union for DEFORMED LIBERALISM

I always wondered if Eric Yoffie was a red diaper baby, or at least an SDS type back in the 60's. I can well imagine that he was involved in leftist protesting at whatever college he attended. Saperstein too, though he seems even more of a hard leftist, if that is possible.

Anyway, Yoffie, as the chief rabbi of Reform Judaism, is one of the reasons I stopped going to our Reform temple.

I've sometimes found fault with elements of the "Religious Right" myself, but I have to say that I don't see anyone over on the Religious Right comparing the Religious Left, of which Reform Judaism is a part, with Joseph Stalin and his many followers. And it's sure as hell a more apt comparison than that Hitler one made by Yoffie.

Yoffie needs to read the Torah, Genesis in particular, to see its take on homosexuality, if that book is still used as an authority by his denomination.

The leader of the largest branch of American Judaism blasted conservative religious activists in a speech Saturday, calling them "zealots" who claim a "monopoly on God" while promoting anti-gay policies akin to Adolf Hitler's.

There's no need to read any further than this sentence. The man's a moron!

Isn't this is an issue only prayer resolves? That is, every Jew is more tightly linked to G-d than, perhaps, to even his own family, much less the rest of us. Isn't this type of mass slandering if that is what it is, being call of the leaders applauded by their congregations, best and perhaps only effected by petition for redress to G-d, Himself?

Consider this Liberal jews claim that homosexual couples should have "legal protections to same-sex partners and their children"

Well, buddy I don't know what you remember about sex, but queers don't have children! By definition queers can't have kids.

Next thing this guy will be giving us the "many paths up the mountain but they all lead to the peak" bullcrap. I would bet that he would not even commit to say that there is only one G-d or he would try to tell us that Allah/Marduk the Moon god are the same as YHWH.

Yoffie also urged lawmakers to model themselves on presidential candidate John F. Kennedy, who famously told a Houston clergy group in 1960 that a president should not make policy based on his religion.

OK fine, but there is a difference between what Kennedy said, and a President who has a belief and faith in God that he is doing the right thing.

For example, President Bush might have gathered with his cabinet before the invasion of Iraq, and prayed for guidance, "God, please help me to make the correct decision, for men will die and I pray that I am doing the correct thing."

Kennedy on the other hand could have prayed with Marilyn Monroe, "God... please don't let me get caught."

Now why did I know this was from the AP? They will crawl under the rocks and through gopher holes to find people that agree with them.

Some imbecilic rabbi in Houston condemns Christians is big news, but let someone agree with us, and voila..silence from the AP gasbags.

A little Proverbs for the Rabbi: Chapter 24, especially verses 10,11.

And he should know that I love him and am praying for him. There's silver in there, I know.
