i don't know for a fact but I suspect this author is too young to actually remember the 70s and all that contributed to stagflation.

Conservatives have long held that deficit spending was -- long term -- a cause of inflation. Unfortunately this naive writer puts the taxation cart ahead of the spending horse.

Demand from China and India will, I believe, keep natural resource and energy stocks the place to invest for at least the near future. If you invest at gold at the right time you can make a killing within a year--or lose a ton.
