Brilliant, simple, stirring...deserving more attention than it got
House Republicans News conference on the U.S. policy in Iraq (11/17/2005) Comments of J.D. Hayworth (R-Arizona):
"J.D. Hayworth. Arizona Five."
"There's no need to sugarcoat what has transpired today. People talk about exit strategies. Well, let's let the American people decide."
"The majority's exit strategy is Victory and Freedom for the people of Iraq. Now, sadly, many on the Democratic side have revealed their exit strategy: Surrender."
"The American people will not stand for Surrender. The American people are made of sterner stuff. And the American people understand that if we turn tail and leave now, more problems will visit our shores and the consequences will be far greater."
"And if there's a doubt, take a look at the people of old Europe. Take a look at the French. Take a look at what's transpiring in the streets of France."
"Sadaam Hussein has been deposed. He is behind bars. That is an unqualified success. Dare we now snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, plagued by the poll-driven self doubt of those who embrace surrender?"
"I don't believe the American people will stand for it. I believe the American people have a simple approach: We prevail. We're victorious. Freedom prevails in the Middle East, and we say No to the spread of Islamofascism around the globe."
JD should be the new Senator from Arizona (and I don't mean in place of Kyl), and the sooner the better.
I've come to the conclusion that the Democrat party has become a CULT. Think about it. Party first before Country.
Spadefish, huh? I was a PN tearned YN on the Archerfish.
"overseas news services like Al Jazeera referred to immediate withdrawal"......IMHO this was a put up by the Clintoon's -Bubba and Missus and the House 'Rats...http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-gop/1524863/posts
bttt
I couldn't agree more about your assessment of the Rats.
It's about time someone called it like it is! This is surrender, proposed by cowards!
"I agree. I am so tired of political doublespeak.'
JD Hayworth is statesman and they don't doublespeak. Statesmen are courageous leaders who stay the course in spite of adversity. The founding fathers of this country were visionaries and statesmen. Politicians are people of weak character who are bad leaders. Thats what we see a lot of today. If our founding fathers were alive today, they would insite the population to throw the politicians out by vote or by force if necessary.
Yeah, but all the things you mentioned they have been rolling on are all beginning to backfire in their faces. Murtha's stunt was a desparate attempt to change the subject and reverse their "fortunes" which are becoming unraveled.
"Following the Senate's vote earlier this week of essentially no confidence in the President, the House of Representatives last night reversed that by giving President Bush a resounding victory, with a near unanimous vote to stay the course in Iraq. In other news..."
Not!
You hit the nail on the head, Gritty. I call the Dems the "post-American" party. They are so over this patriotism and nationalism thing, so much wiser that they can see the big picture. If only we would listen.
