OSAN AIR BASE, South Korea — With the debate over a military pullout growing increasingly bitter back home, President Bush said Saturday that he is determined to keep troops in Iraq until the mission is complete.

"We will never back down and we will never give in and we will never expect less than complete victory," Bush said during a quick layover at this military installation that is home to the primary U.S. Air Force unit in Korea. "We will defeat the enemy in Iraq."

The president, wearing a brown leather bomber jacket with a patch that said "Commander in Chief," said a pullout would leave Iraq open to terrorists who would launch attacks on the United States and moderate Arab states.

"I'm going to make you this commitment: This is not going to happen on my watch," he said.

Spin as hard as you want Dinosaur Media about "increasing bitter debate". The fact remains you cut and run cowards have LOST the argument. Lost in the House last night. Lost in the speech right here. Unfortunately for you Leftist losers "journalists", Bush is President until Jan 2009. Learn to live with your irrelevance "Journalists"

He should thank the house for a "solid vote of confidence"

Nailed it. 100% right on. Dems lost this argument in 2002, they lost it in 2004 and NOW they want to make it THE issue going into 2006? That is just stupid, that is mega rock hard dehydrated stupid.

Yeah I couldn't believe of all the things they've tried to make issue of, this was it.
There are claims of thousands of documents that haven't even been released yet that show all kinds of evidence of WMD and cooperation with Al-Qaeda--let alone the overwhelming documents that HAVE been released. Plus you have all the Dems that are complaining now on record as supporting this president and the previous president on this issue.

It seemed like there was a sudden switch back to this war as an issue once gas prices started to fall.

It's tough being a RAT. You have a lot of certifiably insane leftists in your core constituency that you have to placate, as well as a fairly large number of people who truly hate the American military and want America to lose in war. These are all part of the RAT base, and the RAT politicos have to satisfy all those whackos and traitors, along with the normal, giddy, misquided, thought-challenged, kind-hearted-but-soft-brained rat voters. It's tough being a RAT leader because getting all your people together is like... herding rats.

I agree and only hope that they keep the roll going. It's long past time to skip the "gentlemanly debate" and utterly crush these people before we lose all the rest of our freedoms and our lives. The moslem hordes are holding on for the time when the lefties defeat us from within and these dithering half-assed arguments give them all the fuel they need to fire up more murderous jihadis. How many deaths will they be responsible for? We have to find the will to call it "treason".

It's all nice to want to "get along" when they're talking about some re-apportionment or budget issue, but when the matter at hand is our survival as a nation, we have to destroy these pricks.

Many people (including me) have criticized the Republicans as being too soft on this issue. The last week or so has been a welcome change. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Let's see if the Republicans can change this equation:

The US has a 2 party system: The Evil Party and the Stupid Party.

The Republicans seem to be smartening up lately and the utter evil of the RATS has led them into an extremely stupid play. If the Republicans play it right --- and that means play it tough, as you have suggested --- then the RATS can be branded with the label they deserver: traitor.

Sounds like the 'exit strategy' the Dims have been clamoring for! Oh course, because the President said this on the other side of the world the MSM will only report it in a five-second aside, and return to the bigger stories of the President's falling poll numbers and the latest garbage issuing from Reid and Kennedy.

It has come to light that Harry Reid has admitted he did not review the pre war intelligence reports prepared by the CIA at the direct request of the Democrats.

And Rockefeller admitted that only six Senators have reviewed the same documents.

Now this means that, sadly, very few Republicans reviewed the documents either.

But Republicans aren't the ones complaining about pre war intelligence report manipulation.

It seems the RNC could make an effective commercial that the left complains about the manipulation of intelligence reports but admit they haven't read them. So how could the left make a judgement that intelligence was manipulated?

Instead of sitting around getting their a$$es kicked, they finally decided to fight back. I hope they keep it up.

Yes, they are starting to use the bully pulpit rather than just spending money with the Democrats. It should have always been this way.
