Looks like the Repubs twisted his arm, and he changed his vote. I'd like to hear a statement from him explaining his earlier Yes vote.

Yeah, exactly. Apparently, the Repubs twisted his arm, and he changed his vote to No. I'd like to see a statement from him explaining his previous Yes vote.

It was weird. McDermott waved his arms around and told a story of how two Arab brothers got married and relocated to villages separated by 6 miles. One of the brothers wives had three kids and the other had none. The one who was barren was ridiculed and threw herself down a well. Arab tradition apparently says that the village who lost the wife could take revenge on the other village. Instead they gave the other village twenty thousand dollars and told them to keep it for twenty years. After twenty years they brought the money back, and now the young men are marrying across the villages again. It was weird.

He tried to show how Arabs are capable of handling their own squabbles, by using a non-sensical event that shouldn't have been the basis for a squabble in the first place. I think he made the case for even more intervention.

"I did get to see Kucinich blow up on the floor with his screaming rant - it was classic."

While I disagree and despise Kookcinich and his position, I admire his principles. He truly believes what he states and is unwavering. OTOH, the majority of dems are merely shills and liars who change their beliefs on whims.

I doubt you could. But I'll spell it out for you. You oppose the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. You must want them to stay indefinitely. Thus, perpetual war. That's your policy by default.

No chuckles, it means not leaving the road before the pavement has been laid, rolled and finished.

Chrissy noted that very few DEMS actually spoke in support of Murtha's position, and said the DEMS are hiding behind someone with actual credibility on defense (Murtha) because the DEMS have none themselves. (HA!) But, he also said the Pubs are frustrated and are only supporting the war out of loayalty to the President.

I truly feel your McCain pain. Just wish there was some cure for us Californians. How this state can put up with *both* Feinstein and Boxer leaves me in despair.

no ties to Al Quaida.

Have you noticed the way all the moonbats universally (and intentionally) misspell "Al QUaida"? I'm trying to understand why they purposefully do that, while claiming to be experts on the subject.

This fascinates me to no end. It reminds of the way they always intentionally mispronounce Rush's name as "Limbo".

PS, Chuckles. If you're going to cling to that lie, you're going to need to come up with a talking point to deal with the Zarqawi matter. And the Yasin matter. And the '99 amnesty offer matter. And the '98 indictment matter. Among many other things.

Wow 403 to 3. LOL, you've got to give those three props for outing themselves as the terrorist huggers they are. Well, okay they only agree with the terrorists much of the time.

The Republicans in the House deserve praise for outing the anti-war nimnals for what they are, loud mouthed propagandists.

I had my doubts about this, but it worked out very well.

You folks will have to forgive me for being a pesimist, when it comes to Republican moves of late. How seldem they show this type of backbone. The Democrats appear to exhibit way too much power IMO. This vote exemplifies what the Republicans should be doing A LOT more often.

Congrats Pubies. When you set your mind to it, you actually can kick liberal ass.

Dems didn't want the amendment, they wanted THE ISSUE..

They wanted MONTHS of televised hearings, all leading into the 2006 election season...

It's nice to see some folks with a SPINE finally stand up against this BS.......

Your post is the one I was looking for. Thanks for the lists.

At least those who voted to pull out had enough backbone to do it. Those who voted "present" wanted to but were afraid to out themselves.

Both groups should be retired when they face election again. Course, district gerrymandering will probably prevent it. What a shame.
