Sounds like an endgame there. Hairs raising. Smell of ozone.

So true. Case in point, a group of dems on CSPAN right now, talking about oversight comm. and if intelligence was manipulated. Now, maybe it's me, but I thought we had a hearing and a commission on that. They said they don't get the same intelligence, yet they just stated they meet with the CIA and all the organizations for briefings...
You tell me... what's wrong with these people?

Exactly.

A Murtha interview:

MARGARET WARNER: Finally, Congressman, do you think the fact that you as a defense hawk have now come to this position, do you think this represents a tipping point? Are you hearing from other Democrats who voted for the war that they're coming to this view themselves?

REP. JOHN MURTHA: I hope this is a watershed. I hope a lot of people think about what I've said and we can begin to withdraw our troops immediately from that area and put them on the horizon, or over the horizon, so if they have to they can go back in.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/july-dec05/withdrawal_11-17.html

Notice he says "withdraw our troops immediately " in there.

Yikes.
I bet St.Chuck isn't gonna like that.

Thank God the vote was as emphatic as it was. Anybody watching knows the Americans, despite the media and the ignoble rats shooting off their mouths, is still committed to victory.

Yeah, I like how he said he was never going to allow America to do that to their soldiers again (Vietnam).

And .. this vote tonight did just that - I think!

There are two trolls on this thread...St Chuck and that polar whatever n00b, who posted the DNC talking points about tonight's vote, before the Dems were saying it on T.V. and radio.

Call out the Viking Kitties and RBKA.

Good find... not surprising the Democrats would try to lie their way out of the noose. But they got beat badly on this ..despite all their lies.

Seems they're focusing on the wrong issue

Yep .. it's called grasping for straws

They are making themselves dizzy trying to spin this

When the bottom line is .. an overwhelming amount of Dems voted to stay in Iraq and not pull out

No body that really can be elected the next President will be so stupid as to lead the anti-war movement. Certainly, credible and anti-war don`t really go ttogether.

Al Jazeera is a sign of a free country? I`m going to fix another scotch, maybe you should pass.

When Jean ran in my District this year, she made a point of saying she wanted to get to DC and go after the 'Rat women in the House. She's done us proud!

I think she has. It was a little disappointed that she had her statement stricken from the record, but the deed was done on live tv, and many heard her :-D

After I called 3 reps, I went drinking to let the politicians realize that polls against the CinC are rigged to make him look bad and that the never polled majority of America support the war and knows we are more successful in the WoT than any other war the USA has fought.

Luckily I was right.
Will this vote, the new UN report, and the Pentagon evidence from Saddam's own people sway their opinion and make them stop their insane assault on the President? Probably not...

I'm with you on it being the first time I'd ever called my representative too. I've written emails, but never called. Told him if he votes to pull the troops out of Iraq, I'll vote to pull him outta Washington, simple as that.

Then I called 8 of my friends and supplied them with the names and numbers of their representatives and asked them to call. I'm pretty sure they all did.

It was also the first time i'd spent a whole evening watching a session in Congress. I bet there were more than a few folks across the country who experienced similar firsts tonight!

hi, Doug -- you and I don't have any trouble remembering he said it would be a long haul. I'm so tired of the selective memories and out-of-context statements from the dems.

For the record, and underscoring the above: I was curious about how cnn is handling this. well, they're in replays: last hr. was larry king alive, and this hour is anderson cooper in re-run from probably 2 hrs ago, lol.

anderson archly notes that the democrats call this vote a "dirty stunt". Then how come it was such a great idea just the day before when murtha proposed it? sheesh, are they so totally incapable of consistency and intellectual honesty?

Yes, but by Sunday, the meaning of what they'd said on Saturday could drastically alter the context of what they'd said on Friday.

We must be very careful not to take their words out of context. They get very upset when we do that.
