Yes. I lost it when he said our troops were the catalyst for the violence there.

I had to come to FR for some sanity. Murtha's pointing fingers everywhere except at himself. If he's been on the defense appropriations subcommittee for 25 years how come all our equipment us now crap? In 1999 we were cannibalizing aircraft for spare parts-he kept his fat mouth shut then.

I have no respect for this man after this speech. It 's a shame that he undid a lifetime of good with this surrender talk. He read his resolution, which never even says where we are supposed to redeploy 130,000 troops to. And do you think they would not still be targets for terrorists wherever they go?

Benedict Arnold was once a great hero of the American Revolution. He had his own cut and run moment.

The democrats can try to Febreze this sh@tpile all they want. It's still a load of steaming crap.

Why are the republicans acting buddy-buddy with the treasonous democrats and speaking semi-good things about that traitor, Murtha? The democrats are being as partisan as can be. It makes no sense.

ABC news just said Murtha explained he wasn't calling for immediate withdrawal but phased withdrawal.

He also admitted how long it takes to build up the supplies and equipment. It takes decades. And the Dems are the ones who took the equipment away.

I'd like to see 30 minutes of Tom DeLay in return!

I'm just getting plugged in...has DeLay showed his face and fired a volley, or is he still 'deep cover'?

That too, but Stalin and Goebbels didn't call for their side to surrender.

Hey, AV. Out on business today, looks like I missed some action! Just got home.

Murtha seems to have been bought and paid for, in my opinion. Something's just not right here. I would say some Dims have been pressuring him hard and they're using him. Not the first time the Dims have used respected veterans.

He seems to be more of a party man than a Marine.

"but Murtha raised some damn good points about lack of supplies, resources stretched thin, etc." good points? how come we only hear that crap from agenda driven politicians and rarely if ever from those in the field? Maybe because it's a canard?

And what is Murtha doing about it?

Murtha says that the insurgents are targetting our troops. But the fact is that our troops are rarely targetted anymore.

Most of our deaths now are when we run operations against the terrorists, and get into REAL battles. We kill 50 people, and lose 5 or 6 of our brave men.

Meanwhile, terrorists are killing Iraqis. And our troops, as we saw today on TV, are right there to rush in, protect the scene, and aid in rescue, cleanup, and triage.

Murtha says our troops are not wanted there, and have nothing to do.

I wish someone would mention that scene shown today on TV, where out troops were there helping the victims in the Mosque, and the IRaqis were hugging us, and working with us, and nobody looked like they wanted us to leave.

We are fighting WITH Iraqis against the terrorists. The Iraqi people know that. They want us out of their country, EVENTUALLY. But not today.

How long does it take to say "Are you an al Qaeda sympathizer or not?" These fat clowns are costing me good money to sit around and debate something they've already voted in favor of once.

Supply lines stretched too thin and insufficient troop numbers. Like I said, the jury is still out.
