GOP Pulls Fast One... Tells Dems: Pull Troops Now? Okay, then let's vote!!!!! Tonight. 7 p.m. in House... Ultimate showdown...
Obey talking about bringing people together. LOL
Exactly correct...it doesn't matter...I just hate for O'Reilly to get any credit..
He lost all credibility with me when he called the Swift Boat Vets liars.
Murtha's resolution is being treated as an amendment to the rule. So there might be some confusion about this.
I just thought - this should have major implications in '06 and '08. The Dems' feet will be held to the fire by their base - this is their BIG CHANCE to bring the troops home. Anyone who doesn't do it, will probably be voted out of office.
I mean, this is it for them. If they really believe that Iraq is not worth one more American life, then this is their time to say so. I guarantee Hillary is not going to vote. Because if she votes to continue with the Iraq mission, her base will abandon her and she'll have no shot.
I really like this. Now if the Reps would cut spending, I'd really be happy with them. I might even vote for them next time.
Can't hurt. It's one more nail in their coffin of "support the troops but don't support the war." After a while, their looney-left-loser allies will abandon them---just not show to vote. Look at how fast things have turned in just two or three weeks since the Miers thing.
Just emailed my Senators. They come through on this one or else. And this is a small enough state where they'll hear from me personally every appearance they make in my part of the state.
David Obey makes Nevel Chamberlain look like a rock!
I HOPE you are right and it is voted down easily. What bothers me is that I switched to c-span when I read about the vote on here. I watched the press conference but could not hear it as my husband was in the room listening to the radio. Hastert looked anything but comfortable or secure. When the Democrats came on c-span I switched back to Fox News and heard Ollie North and Eagleburger talking about what is happening. Neither, particularly Eagleburger, looked confident over the Republicans and took the Republican Senate to the woodshed for their deserved punishment in regard to what they have already done. Both predicting dire consequences for the country if the Republicans can't get their act together quickly.
Hearings about what? We are still at war! Hearings? Like John Kerry's hearings over Viet Nam? NO! NO! NO! NO!
"David Obey D making a fool out of himself whining like a looser..."
He learned well from Frist...
Can you link? For some reason I seem to be c-span challenged at the moment.
Here's me telling you on video
(first speaker)...It doesn't work for me. It needs . . . MORE COWBELL!
Really? Where are you seeing/reading this????
Hee Hee
This is frickin' brilliant!!!!!
I think this gets the debate off the TV and ONTO the floor of Congress. I am just so GIDDY to see them have to VOTE and SPEAK on the REAL record. The Congressional record.
All they'll do is come out and say how they don't think it's a great idea to pull out now BUT that we shouldn't have went in the first place and now we are in a situation the President got us in blah blah blah...
Even over at DU most of them are saying they hate Bush and the war but it would be stupid to just leave.
Even the STUPID DUers know there would be horrid consequences.
A vote to pull out is indicated by lying on the floor while waving a white flag.
A vote to stay the course is indicated by standing up.
I didn't see it or read it. I heard it from Obey!
