The media is portraying Murtha as Chesty Puller.
In May 04, Murtha with Pelosi at his side, said " the war is unwinnable."
Yesterday, he said on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer that terrorism started with Abu Grhaib and the invasion of Iraq.
In his speech yesterday, Murtha said :
" But the intelligence concerning Iraq was wrong. It is not a world intelligence failure. It is a U.S. intelligence failure and the way that intelligence was misused."
The troops he visits at Walter Reed are demoralized because "they were deployed without enough troops to win the peace."
The troops are demoralized " because they were deployed when their homes were ravaged by hurricanes."
And my favorite slap at the military:
" Many say that the Army is broken...
Recruitment is down, even as our military has lowered its standards."
Murtha's behavior does not make him a hero by my standards.
He has undercut and slammed the troops- which makes him a natural Democrat hero.
Slaughter and the rest of the Dems are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. It will increase the attacks on Americans as AQ senses the weakness shown by these spineless idiots who are seeking political advantage. They did it once and should not be allowed to do it again.
Just a guess, but they use their service for political gain? Murtha joined up for the Vietnam war at the age of 38?

Exactly! These guys have become "squishy" in their old age. For whatever reason, they have regrets about their own lives and feel a need to "make things right". He needs to resign now. He can no longer be a decision maker for this country.
