I currently have no plans to have a bird shot vaccination since from what I understand, they are not yet available. And since I don't live with poultry, I'm not too worried. Lots more people die from regular flu every year than have died from the bird flu. And if it is similar to the 1918 strain, wouldn't we already have some immunity to it?
Your complaint against sciense is not supported by your buying history.
How do they make a vaccine anyway? First, isn't the flu caused by a virus, which you can't defend against much anyway, and there are so many viruses, which one do they pick? Do they give you a live one, thus giving you the flu in the first place? Then it mutates, so the vaccine is useless. Some vaccines may work, and some may not. But you can get a useless dose of mercury and whatever brew they have mixed up in it and make some drug company rich. Just frequent hand washing is the most advised best method.
