More than 60 Christian converts in northern India will be burned to death if they refuse to return to Hinduism by Sunday, a group of extremists has warned.
The radical Hindus severely beat the converts' pastor, Feroz Masih, in a Nov. 4 attack in the state of Himachal Pradesh, accusing him of "forcibly converting" Hindus, reported Compass Direct, a news service that monitors persecution of Christians.

I was way to harsh. I apologize.
I want to do something about this, and can't imagine we can't. I can't believe we let people get burnt when we know it is happening.
It drives me crazy comparing this to the "HORROR" of New Orleans when we let those poor people live in the dome in "Squalor, with little food and water" for all of two days.
That was a nightmare, but this won't get any press coverage. They were poor blacks, this is just christians.
That seems a fair offer. I love religious tolerance.
And exactly what would you suggest be done? Use the Armed Forces to right every wrong worldwide? Could you point that responsibility or intent out to me in the Constitution? Of course, the US government hasn't much followed it for the last century and a half but still

Why? We see Muslims dying for their "religion" and I'm certainly not impressed.
Let's be the army He needs and fight the true enemy. The prayers of the righteous will avail much against His enemies. Also, let our light so shine and take that baskets off of our heads. (I'm talking to myself too).
Also, I believe we need to speak out at every opportunity that we will not back down as Christians when persecuted (I'm remembering Paul&Silas) and to present a solid and united front in defending our brothers and sisters in Christ.
All religions seem to have extremists, even some "Christian" sects, but this is only the second (significant) religion that I know of who use mass murder as persuasion.
Why does India tolerate it?
Well, Chuck, you see, coercion is but a thin line separated from "persuasion". You may choose martyrdom as a personal choice, but encouraging others to do so overtly or covertly makes you my enemy.
If you can't figure out why, stay out of my way.
What if I CAN figure out why, but vehemently disagree with me?
Will you martyr me if I get in your way? Or just talk me to death?
I encourage my fellow christians to not resort to violence against "our enemies". I do not believe the crusades were an appropriate spiritual activity. I don't pretend I'm right, or admit I'm wrong. It's just what I believe.
And I like living in a country where I can tell others what I believe, and encourage them to join me in those beliefs, and I don't have to worry about people who tell me to "stay out of my way".
Most christians don't have this luxury. In most countries, if someone tells you to "stay out of my way", you better do so or you end up dead.
Speak for yourself. Every religious and political ideology is fanatical in it's own way.

Your reply has no relationship to my comment, which is that too many people in this country have an "idylic" view of the religions and cultures of the rest of the world, because we think the rest of the world treats religion like WE do.
We are an extremely tolerant nation, and we assume the rest of the world is as enlightened and "tolerant" as we are. They aren't.

There are many Hindus in India, and many sects of Hinduism. They have there fair share of violent extremists.
The atrocities among the radical Muslims and Hindus have been going on for years. Christians usually get caught in the crossfire.
Yes it does. In your preivous statement, you stated: We in the United States have a very skewed and childish view of the religions of the world.
As a U.S. citizen, I take offense to such an broad, ignorant statement. And I pointed out to you, my views on the various religions of the world.
And it is true that every religious and political ideology is fanatical in it's own way. History supports this assertion.
That is NOT to say I mean to say 'fanatical' in the solely tyrannical/terrorist form. But instead I mean 'fanatical' in the amount of dedication people have shown in support of the various ideas and beliefs of the world.
