Last week a 19 yo National Gaurdsman returned back home after serving this great country of ours since last April. I guess his family has its troubles and no one was there at the airport to greet him, that broke my heart. He called my friend and her family from the airport so she was able to talk to him. He is flying in to stay with my friend and her family over Thanksgiving. She is arranging for a number of us to greet him at the airport on Saturday night. I was hoping some of my fellow freepers would send him some welcome home messages that I would give to him......
To one of my heroes....thank you for giving of yourself for me. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude for all you do and all you give up in the process. I would be there to give you a great big old Texas mom hug if I could. Welcome home.
Proud Mom of 3 Veterans
It's an honor to welcome you home and thank you for your service.
Oh wow, I'm so glad you are doing this. Be sure to tell him how many of us honor his service and send our love and support even if we cannot be there in person.
Welcome home Soldier! Thank You for your service.

Tell him that if he hasn't made Thanksgiving plans, he is welcome to stay with us for the 4-day weekend and "cut the bird" with the Smith Family (Me) in Charleston,SC. I will purchase the round trip ticket, he need only bring himself.
Welcome home Soldier and thank you for your service.
Welcome Home Soldier -- and Thank You!
Welcome home, we are very proud of the job you've done
Please pass along my many many thanks -- and a BIG WELCOME HOME.
p.s. Maybe you should contact the local media and the VFW's and American Legions in your area. I imagine they would love to welcome this hero home.
My Army son is in Korea. Both he and I thank this soldier for his great service to his country.
He should be aware that as duty overseas makes great demands of us; so to does life's complexities continue for those at home. The toughness he has acquired from his service will stand him in good stead for any disappointments he has to endure on his return and we know he is now strong enough to carry forgiveness for any slights.
His courage, his honor and his sacrifice are unquestioned and are acknowledged by his countrymen. We can only say that we stand with him and offer our love and appreciation.
Welcome Home, Kimmers!
Tell him thank you, that he and all his fellow servicemen and women are in our prayers everyday. And Happy Thanksgiving. God bless him.
I have TONS of Support Our Troops signs if anyone would like to meet this fine young man at the airport with a bit of flare. :)
If I can be there, I'll bring a sign. I think I've been booked for Saturday night though, so if anyone is definitely going, I can give them signs.
I just emailed my husband's cousin that is a Delta Flight attendant to see if she can look up the flight number and gather some thankful Delta crew or others to greet this hero.
Thanks for posting this, this soldier deserves a HUGE Welcome HOME!
Welcome home and thank you so much for your service. Because of heroes like you, I have the freedom to do what I am able to do.
You and your buddies are always in my thoughts and prayers.
